real estate: IKE hits my hometown!

I was absolutely glued to the television these past few days in awe over the destruction that hurricane Ike inflicted on the Texas gulf coast. Partially because I still have family and friends in Houston and Galveston and Louisiana, and partially because I was able to see things on the news that I recognized. It is eerie seeing a thriving metropolitan area as large as Houston the way it was. Downtown deserted. Freeways empty. I know it is hard to put in perspective to those of you who have never been there but i remember the amount of traffic on 8 lines … (2 comments)
