4 Ways to Do More Busness Without Spending More Money

I came across this article and thought it was worth posting. I especially like the Quit Complaining Section. Hope you like it!
4 Ways to Do More Business Without Spending More Money
Van Deeb
The following four ways to do more business without spending more money may seem simple and easy to accomplish, yet over 97% of us don’t do these things. Yes, we’ve read about these strategies in motivational, inspirational self-help articles and thought about doing them, but we still don’t do them. My challenge for you today is not just to read this list but actually print it out and do what it says! THEN, after you have experienced the incredible results that I know you will, please email me about how these four ways have produced more business for you without requiring you to spend more money. I will feature your triumphs in a future newsletter.
Here they are:
1. Tell more people what you do for a living.
If you don’t tell people about what you do for a living, then you are basically keeping it a secret and guess what—it will remain a secret. People in business who don’t talk about what they do are usually broke, they don’t stay in business very long, or they make very few sales. Why? Because they keep their business a secret! Not only do you need to tell everyone over and over again what you do for a living, but you also need to ask them to do business with you. People want to help people who ask for their business. It’s not that difficult. When was the last time you asked someone to do business with you? If your answer is anything other than “Every day...all day,” then start doing it. Ask more people to do business with you and you will do more business without spending more money.
2. Stretch your business day.
Add 30 minutes to each business day and then gradually stretch it to an hour if you can. Either start work 15 minutes earlier and stay 15 minutes later, or take a shorter break or lunch hour. Spend less time visiting unproductive social websites that have absolutely no benefit to your career. If you really want to make your business day more productive, you may not have to add any time at all and may even work less hours if you are willing to pick one average day and keep a journal on your desk and document everything you do and how long it takes you to do it. This is one of the most effective ways I know to figure out how much time you are spending in certain areas. You will have to be your own best critic and make adjustments accordingly. You might be surprised how much time you spend doing unproductive things, which could be time better spent doing more business without spending more money.
3. Quit complaining.
You may ask what complaining has to do with doing more business without spending more money. Complaining takes time, it depletes your energy, and it is most definitely unproductive, which ends up costing you money. Where does it say in any manual that complaining is a positive business characteristic? It doesn’t, and not only will it make you less productive but it will also bring down the people around you. I know complaining is part of human nature, but we all have the ability to complain less, especially if we are trying to be more productive in our careers. If you are a complainer, work to eliminate this habit because it could end up costing your business. No one likes to be around a complainer. Use the time you spend complaining to do more business without spending more money.
4. Schedule time to accomplish everything on your “to do” list.
Most of us motivated business types have a “to do” list of things that we want to accomplish the next day or week. To get results, you have to turn your “to do” list into a series of appointments. Take each item or task and write it into your calendar as a scheduled appointment, just as you would do with anything else. I have been guilty of having a “to do” list that just kept getting transferred to a new list. When I started making each task into a scheduled appointment, I actually would get it done and see it through. The more tasks you can cross off your “to do” list, the more business you can do without spending more money.

Home Warranty Inspections from Your Kitsap Home Inspector!

Kitsap Home Warranty Inspections
3 Things Buyers Of New Construction Need To Know Before Their Home Warranty Expires! Do you need a Kitsap Home Inspector?
Over the last several years I've heard Buyers of New Home Construction repeat the same three reasons over and over again as to why they didn't get a Kitsap Home Inspection and the truth of the matter is they were mistaken. Here's what they think:
Reason #1: I Trust My Builder!
The reality today is that most home builders don't even have tools and equipment. The fact is most new home builders are financiers and occasionally job site managers.
Who actually builds your new home are the sub-contractors that the builder hires to do the work. So whether your new home is built correctly and complies with the current building code strictly depends on the knowledge and skill of the sub-contractors. And speaking candidly, the quality of the sub-contractors varies greatly. And most sub-contractors are unlicensed and unregulated, so who's looking over their shoulder?
Reason #2: The House Is New What Could Be Wrong?
Even though all of the parts of the house you come in contact with each and every day appear fine, there's a lot more to your house than meets the layman's eye.
Here's the real issue; were the mechanical and structural components of the house put together properly. And truthfully, most homeowners don't have the knowledge or skill to judge that aspect of a new home.
So here's what happens in many cases. You go to sell your new home sometime in the future. The buyer hires a home inspector to evaluate the property for them. And low and behold the buyer's home inspector finds lots of things that were done improperly by the sub-contractors and now the buyer wants you to make the necessary repairs.
So I'll ask you again, why should you pay for someone else's mistakes?
Reason # 3: The Kitsap Municipal Building Inspector Inspected The Home!
Here is a True Consumer Safeguard that has sadly gone bad!
Because of the housing boom over the last few years many Municipal Building Inspectors are forced to conduct 40 to 70 inspections daily. These inspections have been reduced from quality checks to "drive by" glances.
One of the other things many Municipalities have done to keep their costs down is to let the new home builders opt out of the Municipal Inspection Program and hire private home inspectors for their building code compliance exams. Now, do you think there is a built in conflict of interest when the person building the house pays "his own inspector" to pass his work?
So here's the long and short of the matter: You Need An Independent Evaluation Of The Property By Your Professional Home Inspector To Protect Your Interests!
So give Assurance Home Kitsap Inspection Services a call today and we will evaluate your home from the foundation to the roof and all areas in between and produce a list of issues that you can give to your Builder so that he can pay for his own mistakes and you won't get stuck holding the bag for future repairs.
Thousands and thousands of home buyers and sellers have chosen Assurance Kitsap Home Inspection Services for their inspection over the last 10 years! That many families can't be wrong!
So give us a call Today and let us get to work protecting you and your investment! Premier Home Inspector Kitsap & Mason Counties.

Essential Tools For Fall Yard Maintenance

Essential Tools for Fall Yard Maintenance
Choosing correct products will determine the health and beauty of your yard. If you properly care for your yard throughout the fall, the results will be extraordinary in the spring and summer. The following products are the essential to yard maintenance and will ensure that you have the yard that you want.
A rake is essential to protecting your yard in the fall. Allowing autumn leaves to remain on the ground will cause dead spots by not allowing necessary sunlight to reach the grass. Use a plastic rake or a mulching lawn mower to keep your yard healthy. Fall is also the perfect time to use fertilizer in order to protect the ground from temperature changes and stress. Use a fertilizer spreader and a slow release fertilizer to safeguard the health of your yard.
Weeds are unsightly and destructive. Fortunately, it is much easier to pull weeds with a weeder. A simple tool that you place over the weed and pull it out without getting on your hands and knees. Likewise, you can conserve energy when planting. Plant any flower bulbs in the fall, and to make this task easier use a bulb planting tool that the will speed up this tedious chore.
It is possible for roots to build up above ground. Known as thatch, these roots can starve the ground of oxygen, water and sunlight. Use a dethatching rake to remove thatch. The best time to use this tool is early autumn. Fall is also the time to use an aerator. Aerate a yard when the soil is compacted. Using an aerator will allow essential nutrients and water to reach the roots. Manually aerate the soil if your yard is small, but a large yard might require an electric aerator. Keeping the yard watered is essential for its health. A soaker hose will protect your grass and trees in the cold and dehydrating winter months. Using a soaker hose or root irrigator in the fall and early winter, before the first freeze, will protect your yard from potential damage.
Properly caring for your yard in the fall will allow you to enjoy its beauty in the spring and summer.

Over the last several years I've heard Buyers of New Home Construction repeat the same three reasons over and over again as to why they didn't get a Home Inspection and the truth of the matter is they were mistaken.
Reason # 3: The Municipal Building Inspector Inspected The Home!

Getting Your House Ready For The Inspection

Okay you prepared your Kitsap home to sell. You mowed the lawn. You put out new pine needles and you even replaced those three dead bushes. You disassembled the trampoline in the back yard that you couldn't live without three summers ago. You moved out the clutter (all into the garage and the attic) to make your home seem bigger. You painted over that purple accent wall with a neutral color. You even took down your velvet painting of "Dogs Playing Poker." You lived in your house as if it were a museum for three months. Real Estate agents have been in and out of your house more often than my family at a buffet bar. Well you got an offer and accepted it. The buyer's real estate agent tells you they want you to swim in a tank with live sharks.....I mean let their home inspector come and inspect your house. You feel the anxiety coming on...What to do..... don't take those pills they talk about on TV. Read the tips in this article.
My name is Isaac Shumaker. I am a home inspector in Kitsap County, WA. www.assurancehomeinspections.com. I have performed thousands of Kitsap home inspections over the past eight years. My purpose in this article is to let you know some common things that Kitsap home inspectors look for during an inspection and some things you can do to prepare for the colonoscopy........I mean the home inspection. Here are my tips:
The Kitsap home inspector is going to find something. No mater how much you prepare your house, he will find something. Don't take it personally.
•1. Clean your gutters.
•2. Trim any trees or branches touching the roof.
•3. Caulk the joints on your trim around windows and door.
•4. Make sure all your downspout have diverters under them.
•5. Clean your oven, make sure all your burners work.
•6. Make sure your disposal and dishwasher are working properly.
•7. Tighten your kitchen cabinets if they are loose.
•8. Tighten your toilets if they are loose.
•9. Make sure your heat and AC are working properly.
•10. Caulk around your tub and shower if needed.
•11. Change your filters for you HVAC system
•12. Make sure all your windows and doors open and close properly. Make adjustments as needed
•13. Remember all the stuff you dumped in the attic and garage to make your house more roomy. Please clean these. The inspector will need to get in there.
•14. Make sure your garage door goes up and down properly. Make sure the auto reverse works properly.
•15. Replace any light bulbs that are burned out.
•16. For goodness sakes whatever you do, don't put that velvet painting of "Dogs Playing Poker" back on the wall.
Get off the ledge!!! Don't jump!!! You will be fine. You will survive the home inspection process. Remember that the home inspector is still going to find some things no matter how much you prepare. It's not personal. If you have any questions or concerns about the Kitsap home inspection process...or you want to buy a used trampoline...cheap.
Kitsap Builder Home Warranty Inspection

www.assurancehomeinspections (360)830-0399 Call today to schedule your inspection and receive $50.00 off your builder warranty inspection!!!!!!!!!!
Will You Pay $863?
That's the average cost to repair builder defects by people selling their homes. A recent J.D. Power survey found that the typical buyer had 14 problems with his new home. That's up 7% from the 1994 study. Now is the time to find the problem areas. If you ignore the issue now you'll end up paying for repairs out of your own pocket later.
When I conduct a Builder Warranty Inspection for a client they are surprised by the long list of Recommended Repairs. Most homeowners are not trained in home construction or inspection. They may not be aware of a minor leak that takes a couple of years to do enough damage to become obvious. The same is true for electrical problems, where an incorrectly wired receptacle could go undetected until someone gets shocked, or worse! Improper drainage is another problem that could take years to show up as foundation problems.
You have two choices, as a homeowner coming up on the one year anniversary of your new home, and they are:
Have a Builder Warranty Inspection:
•· Identify warranty repairs before the warranty expires.
•· Schedule repairs at your convenience.
•· Have the builder pay for the repairs
•· Rest Assured that your home is well built.
OR
Don't have a Builder Warranty Inspection:
•· Pay to repair builder mistakes out of your pocket.
•· Worry about what the buyer's home inspector will find, when it's time for you to sell your home.
•· Try to negotiate out-of warranty repairs with the builder.
•· Pay for repairs out of your own pocket, WHEN THEY COULD HAVE BEEN PAID FOR BY THE BUILDER, IF YOU HAD A BUILDER WARRANTY INSPECTION!!!

What others have to say about Isaac

"Isaac's inspection revealed a serious defect in the flashing and weather-proofing of a newly constructed home, saving the owners from a potentially serious situation involving water damage. The important side note is that 4 similar new homes had already been sold, and none of those inspectors found the flaw! Even the Building Department inspector missed it! The contractor was called back to fix all the homes, and they changed their blueprints to address future construction as well." Mark Larson, John L. Scott
"You did a great job with the inspection; both Jeff and I were very impressed. When we go to purchase another rental, you will definitely be our choice for a home inspection."Shannon Wells Rachel C Brown
"Dear Isaac, I just wanted to thank you again for the wonderful job you did on my inspection. Your thoroughness and attention to detail was greatly appreciated! Thanks again and take care,"
"We have known Isaac Shumaker for many years and have found him to be an honest, hard-working and extremely knowledgeable young man. As a Realtor I try to surround myself with people I trust and my first choice for a home inspector is Isaac. He gets the job done quickly while leaving the lines of communication open, in short he helps make me a better Realtor. I would (and do) recommend Isaac Shumaker, ASSURANCE HOME INSPECTIONS, with confidence!" Penny & Ed Hannifan ~ Prudential NW Real estate

Preparing For The Inspection

Preparing For The Inspection
Proper preparation for the home inspection by the buyer & seller allows the real estate transaction to go smoothly.
Allow two to three hours for a complete home inspection. Payment is due at time of inspection.
The buyer should accompany Isaac for the best education.
Contact the property owner regarding the date, time & estimated duration of the inspection. Also, make sure the security system is deactivated.
Ensure that we receive the buyer's full name, address, email & phone number if unable to attend the inspection.
Please contact our office at least twenty-four hours before the inspection if the appointment needs to be cancelled or postponed.
Make sure all of the property's systems are turned on for the inspection.
Inform the owner that all appliances, equipment & systems with be inspected and returned to the condition in which they were found.
The owner should move items that block access to the furnace, boiler, hot-water heater, attic, crawlspace, foundation access panels, electric service panel, etc.
It is helpful to have all tubs and sinks emptied.
The inspection report is provided to the buyer promptly (usually same day) via email to the buyer and buyers agent.
Payment is always due upon completion of inspection.

Home Inspections in Kitsap, what to expect

A home inspection is a vital part of the buying process. It protects you from unknowingly purchasing a house that has serious deficiencies-and thereby turning what was initially a dream home into a nightmare.
So what actually happen during a home inspection? Here are a few snapshots of what to expect.
There is no quick way to properly inspect a house. A thorough examination by a qualified home inspector will take at least two hours, and possibly longer.
Don't just wait around. Accompany the home inspector during the examination.
Expect the inspector to check the house inside and out;, top to bottom. The inspection should include a trip to the roof, a visit to every room in the house, a crawl into the attic, a look inside electrical outlets, and more. (If all of these are not done, ask why.)
An inspection is a lot like a doctor's examination. It should check every system of the house for potential problems: structural, electrical. Heating, cooling and roofing. Ventilation, grading (to ensure that water drains away from the house), and plumbing.
Ask questions during the inspection. Learn all you can about the maintenance of the house, what needs to be repaired and other issues. If there are problems, find out if they are serious or relatively minor.
When the inspection is complete, you should receive a comprehensive written report. If you don't understand something, don't hesitate to ask. There are lots of inspectors in Kitsap, it's important to know what you're getting from your inspector, to see a sample report of our inspections, go to our website at www.assurancehomeinspections.com
