Moments ago, the House voted 403-12 to expand and extend the Homebuyer Tax Credit (as part of the Unemployment Insurance Bill).  The bill is now on its way to President Obama for his signature... so this is ALMOST a done deal!
The agreement on the extension and expansion of the credit is as follows:

Governor Sonny Perdue just signed the new Georgia Home Buyer Tax Credit last week, which offers up to $1,800 in tax credits on your Georgia state income tax.  This credit is open to ALL home buyers and takes effect immediately for the next SIX MONTHS.
Here's how it works...

Thanks to historically low interest rates, $8000 tax credit for first time home buyers and affordable home prices, the National Association of Realtors repored that sales of existing homes in February were UP 5% nationwide and 6% in the South - compared to February of 2008.
As we venture forward in this buyers market (aka FIRST time home buyers market), I have a very good feeling that homes priced under $350,000 will continue to sell and the existing home sales will continue to rise.
