Median prices for single-family homes and condominiums in Massachusetts increased significantly in January compared to January 2009, The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman, reported February 23, 2010. The median price for single-family houses sold in January rose 9.6 percent to $285,000 from $260,000. It was the second consecutive month that median prices for single-family homes increased by nearly 10 percent when compared to the prior year; however, last month’s median selling price was 12 percent lower than it was in January 2008.
