auburn university: Spooky!!! Is Auburn University's chapel really haunted? - 10/31/08 07:51 AM
It has been said that Auburn University's chapel is haunted by the ghost of Sydney Grimmett.  Sydney is said to be the ghost of a Civil War solidier and has been sighted by people in the church's rafters.
The 158 year old church was originally set up by plantation owners as a hospital for a regiment originating in Texas.  Supposedly Sydney was a part of this regiment and was shot in the leg and developed gangrene and was later buried in Pine Hill cemetary.
The majority of the paranormal activity occured while the chapel was being used as a theatre.  Since this time the … (2 comments)

auburn university: Auburn-Opelika, AL ranked 6th in America's Fastest-Growing Large And Small Metros - 10/09/08 09:07 AM
Auburn-Opelika, Ala.Rank: 6
Projected total GMP growth, 2007-2012: 24.01%
In the mid-1980s, Auburn officials decided to focus on attracting small and medium-sized employers in the technology sectors. Their work seems to have paid off. Auburn University is still the metro area's largest employer, but the area's location along the I-85 corridor makes it an ideal spot for auto parts suppliers that serve manufacturing centers elsewhere in the South. By 2012, Auburn's population is expected to grow by more than 17% above 2007 levels.

auburn university: Applauding all the Realtors showing homes in the snow and rain. Do you have any stories to share? - 01/20/08 07:36 AM
Just had to share the snowman with all my friends.  It seems very rare we actully enjoy snow in Auburn, AL so it is so exciting once we do have a little come our way.  It was such a nice time for all the children to build snowmen and just enjoy all the fun snow brings.  Actually, I had some friends showing homes for sale in Auburn, AL and actually had a contract written on one of the homes I had listed.  Talk about dedication from your Realtor.  Showing homes in the rain and snow is truly dedication to your clients.

auburn university: If you want "IT" bad enough go get it!!!! YOU CAN DO IT! Yes, YOU! - 09/11/07 01:42 PM
So you are tired of where you are, but you are afraid of moving forward.  So what do you do? You have every reason of why you can not move forward, but the truth is FEAR.  We all have FEAR, but if we allow it to overtake us we will never be more than what we are now and we will continue to be disappointed with ourselves.
However, if we have a vision of where we would like to be and break the road to this dream into obtainable steps we will eventually be what we envision ourselves being.  Although we may have … (5 comments)

Just a little trivia for all the Auburn football fans.  Ever wonder how the Tiger Walk was started?  The tradition started in the early 1960's.  Two hours before kickoff of every home football game, Auburn fans will line up along Donahue Drive to show their support for the Auburn football team as they walk from Sewell Hall to Jordan-Hare Stadium.  It has become so popular it has been listed on the players' game weekend itinereary.  The largest Tiger Walk to date was on December 2, 1989 before the first ever home football game against rival Alabama.  An estimated 20,000 fans packed … (2 comments)
