Sales: According the Lee County Association of REALTORS MLS, Lee County area residential sales totaled 140 units in April, an increase in sales growth of 11.1 percent or 14 units above the same period last year. This represents the best sales results for the month of April since 2007 when 127 transactions closed. Year-to-date sales through April are up 30.4 percent from 2014. Forecast: April sales were 17 units or 13.8 percent above our monthly forecast. ACRE's year-to-date sales forecast through April projected 392 closed transactions

The Alabama Statewide Housing Affordability Index for the first quarter of 2015 was computed at 236.1. This quarter's HAI increased by 2.8 percent compared to the 2014 first quarter's index of 229.7 primarily due to the drop in composite interest rate. The HAI remains high compared to historical figures associated with the index. Alabama's 1st quarter housing affordability index of 236.1 has increased 3 percent from the same quarter in 2014.
