safety: Open House Tragedy Diverted!!

I was out showing homes a few Sundays back. My first time home buyers and I are out on a glorious day looking at houses. We saw some good ones and some not so good. We pulled up to a listing that was an open house. The agent had just arrived and she was getting the house all ready for her open. She was turning on the lights, opening the blinds. Well, not really ME in particular. I am talking about where you can go to check folks out that may come into your home to do work or if you are shopping for a home, you may want to check the sex offender registry. We all want to protect our families, no question about it. In the past, people have bought homes only to find out that a criminal or sex offender lives right down the street.
