Earlier in my career, I had a friend who became a client. Well, a quasi client would be a better descriptive. My friend LOVED looking at houses. She spent time in each listing admiring the decor and gathering decorating tips. She even drove around town searching for more homes for us to preview! But it was what she didn't do that determined that she was not a home buyer at all, in fact she was simply taking a sight seeing tour. I don't think it's just me. But, I wondered if some of you are also having the experience of running into great potential home buyers, who are buying their first home, and have somehow MISSED the news about the FREE money they can access if they buy a home this year? Up to $8,000 worth to be exact! This has happened several times within the past couple of weeks. I've learned not to ASSUME that everyone who needs to know does. I met them early one evening several months ago. They were young, attractive and articulate. This was going to be their first home and they had questions...lots of them. They had been referred to me and as we talked about the process and what they could anticipate, I began to appreciate a keen understanding of their shared goals and purpose. I just finished watching a video that Missy Caulk posted on her blog which is taking the on line world by storm right now.
