The picture below was taken during one of my recent Winchester, Kentucky home inspections.

The attic hatch, just a piece of sheetrock, is in the upstairs hallway.  Remember that heat rises right up to that second floor ceiling.  Insulation helps hold it in the living space of the house.  No insulation on the attic hatch lets quite a bit of heat … (2 comments)

Is your Lexington Kentucky home leaking your energy bill $$$$$ out through the roof.  All the recent snow gives you a great opportunity to find out easily.
During a recent Lexington Kentucky Home Inspection, I had the opportunity to take a good photo that shows the drastic difference of a well insulated attic versus a not so well insulated attic.
This picture of one side of a four-plex roof says so much, if you just know what you're looking at.
