Persian New Year "No-Rooz", Wednesday March 20th, 2013 at 6:02:13 AM CST “No-Rooz”, or in many variations of its spelling; NoRooz, NoRouz, NowRouz, etc., is the Farsi word (Persian language) meaning the “New-Day” signifying the first day of the Persian New year. “No-Rooz” is the major holiday of the Iranian people, which are celebrating for 13 days. Schools, Colleges and universities and most of the workforce are off for these thirteen days enjoying their long vacation, traveling, visiting family and friends, etc.
