Honesty is important in all aspects of our lives.  While there are surely dishonest folks in any industry or walk of life, the real estate/property management world is one that's taken a pretty good beating over the past few years- and in many cases it's justifiably so.
 
We still practice in a field where honesty matters, though- and my somewhat pollyanna view of life still leads me to trust that there are more folks sharing that sentiment than not.

I discuss Realtor referrals in the attached video.  Realtor referrals are indeed the lifeblood of Hampton & Hampton's business, and both I and the brokerage enjoy a great relationship with the "traditional Realtor" community.
Here, I discuss the referral process as a whole- including what happens to prospects once they're given to Hampton & Hampton, how they always remain the referring Realtor's client for sales purposes and more.

Well, I made it.  Though my faith failed me for a bit in the end, God never did.  Just as I'd resigned myself to the fact that my Realtor-ness would come to an end effective 1/1 (or today, however it is that they whack folks when they whack 'em), the Lord came through for me.  I'll allow the details to remain private- but suffice to say that God is good.

The Tide's rolling....err...The Tide's turning...err....No, for once, I'm not talking about my 13-time National Champion Alabama Crimson Tide (hopefully 14-time soon, by the way).  Here, rather, I'd like to talk a bit about our Orlando area's increasing rent prices and the tide that rolled in and and brought them.
 
Our industry didn't see rent prices drop through the floor overnight- so we shouldn't expect a recovery and prices through the roof any more quickly.  There's a strange period of adjustment going on right now, and the adjustment will require a good … (4 comments)

Yep, somebody got the ol’ increase…the price bump…the hike. They might even have a few other words for it that I can’t print.  But nonetheless, come renewal time on February 1st, a certain tenant of mine is going to be making that rent check of her’s out for a new amount, baby!

What is it with Apopka landlords at holiday time? At Thanksgiving, we had the guy who famously took a bulldozer and flattened his own trailer- and now we have a landlord-tenant dispute resulting in the tenants' returning home and shooting up their own place- on Sugar Plum Lane, for St. Nick's sake!
My take on it- as one that's "in the trenches"? Managing your own property in the Apopka, Longwood, Heathrow or Lake Mary areas can be frustrating- and especially so during the holidays. So don't do it.

I've had a lot of great tenants over the years, and it's those that I'm thankful for- both today and every day. Have there been some clunkers over the years? Yep. Mal-contents? Ditto.
