O.K. Here's a good one- and one I'll be interested to see both how much of a response I get to this post and what type of folks respond to it. I might ultimately be proven wrong, but I'd figure that more often than not women are the ones offering men said favors.
That said, what types of men are offered them? Property managers? "Regular" sales-side folks? Loan/mortgage-side folks?
So have you ever had a prospect offer you sexual favors?
A new law recently went into effect in Ohio- removing the “vicious dog” label that had been automatically assigned to all Pit Bulls. The 25-year-old law has now been replaced with 3 separate categories where dogs of any breed may now be labeled as nuisance dogs, dangerous dogs or vicious dogs.
Pit Bull enthusiasts here in Florida will surely stumble across this news, and revel in the fact that Ohio no longer classifies all Pit Bulls as vicious- yet they should make no inferences that what has happened in Ohio (0 comments)
Ever run into a tenant you've evicted? Every now and then, I'll see a tenant of mine "out in public" (like my office or their house isn't public for some reason). This is a business where you deal with a ton of folks, and I'm actually surprised I don't run across them more often. Small talk is usally made and everyone moves along, but there's always the possibility that an awkward situation could arise. One of these would be when/if you run into someone whose application you've rejected, with the other being an (8 comments)
Orlando Market: Tick goes the clock, make your move before it hits tock http://www.orlrealtor.com/resource/resmgr/Images_Market_Pulse/MarketPulse042012.pdf Well, the latest market report from our Orlando Regional Realtor Association (ORRA) is out, and things just keep motoring along here. Good news for everyone, right? Wrong. Good news for sellers? Check. Good news for investors looking to get a great property and have it leased and professionally managed? Check. Good news for buyers? Sort of. Rates are still low and bargains can be found when you've got a great Realtor helping you- but you can't (5 comments)
Bad guys in the sports world? Easy to find. There’s the guy with 10 kids by 10 different mothers. The guy that makes millions of dollars every year, yet leaves a $3 tip for a waitress that’s busted her tail serving his party for a couple of hours. There’s a certain quarterback (who shall remain nameless in this post) who had a bit of an animal cruelty problem.
Good guys in the sports world? They’re around, too- but all too often it’s those seeking to glorify themselves who (2 comments)
Looking for new gadgets or strategies? Are you really using what you have? It's easy to get caught up in Gadget Hoopla. If you have a laptop, you have to get that iPad. If you have the iPad, you have to get that iPad 2- and swap stories with all of the other folks in line with you at 4 a.m. Got an iPod? Well, you're missing out if you don't have an iTouch. Technology is great and all, but are we losing something by engaging (6 comments)
rent: Neighborhood Watch...or no Neighborhood Watch?
- 04/10/12 12:32 PM
Neighborhood Watch...or no Neighborhood Watch? Neighborhood Watch or No Neighborhood Watch?- that is the question. Or at least one of them. So where do you stand? Are you in favor of Neighborhood Watches, or against them? Do you feel the serve a purpose in the community you live and work in- or are they simply a bunch of nosy, busybody Gladys Kravitzes with nothing else to do with their lives but check for "foreign" vehicles along their beat? The simmering Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case is surely causing many to give Neighborhood Watches more consideration than ever- and I'm not yet sure whether that's a (10 comments)
I'd dare say that most of us have some sort of lead or prospect tracking system. It may be a program such as Top Producer that we use at Legends Realty, or perhaps your "system" is an Excel spreadsheet under a McDonald's sack in the floorboard of your car. Regardless the complexity of the system, it's important to track your prospects.

I've hit better milestones, I can assure you. But today's story is my 20th one about a needless or careless pedestrian fatality here in our Central Florida area. We can surely do better, folks...a better job of following the traffic laws ourselves, and a better job of teaching our children how to do so.
And law enforcement can surely do a better job of enforcing our pedestrian laws. Does anyone really enjoy driving down the road at 40-50 mph and having someone just stroll out in front of them? (5 comments)
Poor Trulia advice: Their 5 things to consider before renting out your home...and my thoughts Today's issue of LinkedIn Today contained an interesting column by Tara-Nicholle Nelson. She's Trulia's Consumer Ambassador of some sort, and she's written the following Q/A on the topic of 5 factors to weigh before renting out your home: http://www.rethinkrealestate.com/http:/www.rethinkrealestate.com/5-factors-to-weigh-before-renting-out-your-home/# I respectfully disagree with her in some areas, so I'll offer my thoughts here and go according to her points... 1. What's the state of your state? First thought is "What (9 comments)
The Property Manager and the Rent vs. Buy Analysis "Rent vs. Buy"... This is a topic I've heard more and more about lately. While it's no secret interest rates have been low- and no secret that that translates into historically low mortgage payments and value, I can't remember seeing any charts on the subject until recently. Following a cue from fellow ActiveRainer Jeremy Wrenn, I joined a BNI group a few months ago. I'm assuming my group is much like any other in that we have folks from a number (2 comments)
Orlando Property Manager Discusses Metro Orlando Foreclosures
http://youtu.be/GPa7uNglBoA
Orlando Property Manager Dennis Burgess (Hampton & Hampton Management & Leasing, Inc.) discusses the metro Orlando foreclosure situation. A story in today's Orlando Sentinel speaks of a local judge, Seminole County Chief Circuit Judge Alan Dickey- and how he will speed through 300 foreclosures cases in the next 3 days. That's a pretty brisk pace of about 30 seconds per case, according to the judge- but still well short of the 125 cases/hr he processed on a recent October day.
It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. (0 comments)
