73 years ago today, the relative serenity and calm of a Honolulu morning was interrupted by the sound of incoming enemy aircraft from the Empire of Japan. Soon to be followed by the sounds of one shipmate after another yelling "Incoming!" and warning each other of both the Japanese planes and their ordnances, it was undoubtedly one horrific day.

For my last post in Bob Crane's Summer Video/"Show Us Your Local" Challenge, I don't believe I could've come up with a better place to visit than a place I've driven by countless times over the course of the past 7 years- the Central Florida Veterans Memorial Park.

Pausing on this 70th anniversay of the D-Day invasion to honor all those who served and never made it home- as well as those who served and made it home, yet returned home forever changed by it.

Central Florida honors our fallen hero with events today, tomorrow and Friday.
On March 22, 2014 at approximately 0357 Hours Officer Robert German of the Windermere Police Department was feloniously killed in the line of duty.
