73 years ago today, the relative serenity and calm of a Honolulu morning was interrupted by the sound of incoming enemy aircraft from the Empire of Japan. Soon to be followed by the sounds of one shipmate after another yelling "Incoming!" and warning each other of both the Japanese planes and their ordnances, it was undoubtedly one horrific day.

On this day and every day, may we always remember December 7th, 1941 and the 2,402 Americans who lost their lives in service to our country. Shipmates, soldiers and airmen alike- heroes one and all.
May we accept it as our charge to remember the devastating attack visited upon us by the Empire of Japan, and undertake the pledge to remain always brave, always faithful and always vigilant in order that the likes of it never happens again.
