golfing: He won!! He has tomatoes on the 4th of July! Tomato growing update.

I've made fun of my husband twice on this blog site about his growing tomatoes and using hair and soap to scare the deer away from his plants. He only has 4 plants because he has a full-time golf hobby that disallows gardening. Well, yesterday, on the 4th of July he was able to harvest 3 tomatoes! He is one proud farmer!! He says he got the best of those #$%^&*!!#! deer. His goal was to have tomatoes by July 4! Victory!!! Now I've gotta figure out whether we can eat them or just admire them. The Governor of Arkansas is Mike Beebe from Searcy Arkansas. He used to be just a good old guy who worked as an attorney in Searcy and played golf with the fellows. He still plays golf with the fellows and is still a good guy but now lives in the Governor's mansion in Little Rock. A few years back they were playing golf and a squirrel actually picked up his golf ball and hightailed it up a tree.....actually stole the ball and probably cost the governor a stroke or two. December 1995, the last chapter that I wrote regarding the origins of Searcy Country Club. It really is a fun story told to me by a nice gentleman, Hubert Smith, who has passed on but is not forgotten.
