Ahhh, this is the old Rendezvous that you may have loved. It is located on Main Street in Searcy Arkansas and many civic meetings, weddings, parties, and family meals were held in this building. Memories are wonderful. It was also a bus stop. This wonderful picture of the bus stopping at the Rendezvous was made by Paula Windsor Thompson when she was a wee tot doing a photography project.

Do you remember going to the movies to see Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, the Lone Ranger, Rex Allen and others? They were really big-time in small-town America. Small-town America had no idea they were Class B movies and all that their little theaters could probably afford. They were just Fun! Going to the movie on Saturday afternoon was the thing all kids looked forward to doing. Steve, Charles, Michael and all home inspectors out there, I hired one to inspect the rent house that I bought today. Does that make you happy? You have brain-washed me here on activerain to the extent that I was afraid not to. It is new, on a slab so he didn't have to contend with snakes or spiders in a crawl space. He ran the appliances and central heat and air and reported that he couldn't get the dishwasher to work right. It didn't get enough water through the hoses. My memory of the scouts dates way back. My son wanted to be a scout and he dragged me to a meeting of all interested parents and kids at the beginning of the scout year. I was a busy person. I took care of the house, the spouse, the kids, and attended college and worked as a Junior Auxiliary member who had to donate oodles of hours to children's projects.
