Graduation? Big Party? Where? Searcy AR had several places for parties way-back-then? This one has lots of young people so it may be a school prom. What I wonder is where it was being held. The Mayfair had big rooms, I think. So did the very popular Rendezvous Restaurant. Roseann Motel? It is sorta contemporary in style except for the chairs and it appears to have a floor where they could play a slow song and the folks could dance. Searcy Sleuths, can you give us more info. This is a very historic chair! You can find it in many Searcy High School yearbooks. We are fortunate, my daughter and I, to have been chosen to market the house and the contents of the home that has been occupied by members of the Roberson family. What makes the Roberson family special? THE RENDEZVOUS! The Rendezvous was one of the best and most popular restaurants in Searcy AR for many years. Do you recognize this location in Searcy Arkansas? We did a blog about the new look of this building a few weeks ago. Refresh your memory about this building by clicking HERE. It is located at 101 S Main across from the old Rendezvous that we've featured many times. This building was going down, down rapidly. Then we noticed work being done on it and it started becoming attractive again. It is owned by Kelly and Beth Ledbetter and was built in 1938. They have done the restoration that looks so good. I looked at it often and wondered what it originally looked like but no post cards or pictures ever showed up. I liked the little column things. Now when you drive by, it has a new look. Look at this picture.

It is the old, now gone, Presbyterian Church that was located on Main Street where the Rendezvous now sits. My understanding is that it burned down and was eventually replaced by the present church at 400 W. Arch. We did a blog on in a few months ago.
