searcy board of realtors: How we have changed 1986 - 2019! This picture tells a lot. Searcy AR - 01/14/19 11:15 AM

Christmas is over!  Business is back!  I'm glad.
But while looking through some of my old things, I came across this picture.  Searcy Board of REALTORS used to be called White Woodruff Co BOARD of REALTORS.  I became President in 1989 and it was still called White - Woodruff Co but shortly after that the club was renamed Searcy Board of REALTORS.  That was a good change and it was also easier to write.  Woodruff County and White County had been dropped and we used the city name of Searcy.

searcy board of realtors: A Rock Fountain. My first. Toured in lovely house yard. Searcy AR. - 04/14/17 11:33 AM

We were visiting houses on our weekly tour of new listings.  The house was expensive, custom built, and in a lovely area of Searcy AR.  I expected everything to be perfect, which it was but I was especially impressed with this rock that was in a flower bed in front of the house.  Notice it has a hole in it and water is coming out!
It just looked like a rock.....
Someone had done a clever job of putting a fountain, hidden, into the rock so that it spouted water all the time.  They put rocks over the operating mechanisms so you … (10 comments)

searcy board of realtors: Development of a leader. President of Searcy Board of Realtors 2014. - 03/16/14 12:39 AM
What a great find in my old picture file!
Here, showing his developing leadership skills, is our present Searcy Board of REALTORS President for 2014.  This was taken in 1981.  I was the Art teacher at Searcy High School.  David Lorton was one of my students and he was pictured here as the President of our Fine Arts Club.  In 1981 I had been in the real estate business for 2 years and was also a teacher.  In 1985 I had to decide on one career or the other and I selected real estate.
A few years ago David and his … (2 comments)

searcy board of realtors: Halloween costume? Outer space creature? Mysterious photo! Happy Halloween! - 10/25/13 01:08 AM
Study this photo that was contributed by a friend.
At first I thought it was someone in a costume at the edge of the woods.
Then I thought it might be a space alien with four eyes, four arms and four legs captured trying to sabotage the pipes in the foreground.

But then you explore a little more closely and you see swinging lines that reveal the true identify of the thing!
It is the world's largest spider out there getting ready for Halloween!
Happy Halloween!!

searcy board of realtors: Those Hoggards....they really rock! Top producers in Searcy Arkansas - 12/16/11 02:08 AM
The Hoggard Team in Searcy Arkansas does so much business!
They are the top team producers in our area.
And they are nice!
You could say they "ROCK."
Just observe.

That's Phil on the left, Joel in the center and Judy on the right.  They are at our weekly sales meeting and rush to grab the seats beside the wall.  At first I thought the rockin' was just a Phil thing.  Then I saw Joel doing it.  And then......Judy joined.
I'm jealous.  If I did that the chair would slip and I'd be floor bound and the REALTORS would ROTFL.

searcy board of realtors: We get taught some things at our weekly MLS meeting. - 02/25/09 11:14 PM
Most of us don't know how to use our MLS to its fullest value.  I asked an agent this morning if she used the "rubber band" search.
"What's the rubber band search?" she responded.
Up until two weeks or so ago I also didn't use it because it was not something I had to have.  Searching in one area of our Searcy AR town, however, is difficult because it is not composed of one subdivision but it is considered an area.  Using the rubber band to search I could pull up everything in that area, so I called one of our … (7 comments)
