Mt Helix La Mesa Annual Christmas Caroling Sing-Along is Sunday December 15th

Put on your Santa hat and bundle up for this festive event. Our days may be sunny and warm, but it’s chilly out at night so dress warmly and bring blankets, jackets, flashlights, hat and gloves, and your best singing voice so you can belt out all those Christmas favorites with your friends and neighbors.  If you put a few jingle bells around your wrist or ties on your shoelaces, it will add to the fun holiday spirit.

Inspired by the Artist's Colony which grew up around Mt Helix in the early 1900s, this amazing annual fundraiser just gets better each year!
Come join us for a breathtaking view atop Mt Helix, food from the best restaurants in town, local artisan beer, wine tasting, plus live music by Star Search Chris "Breeze" Barczynski. Local artist  Chuck MacPherson will be here, painting a watercolor, which will be auctioned off, too. All proceeds go to support Mt Helix Park enhancement and maintenance.

Traditional Caroling and Office Open House - Sunday, December 12, 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm. The Full Measure Carolers will greet guests as they disembark from the shuttles in front of the new under-stage office at the Mt Helix Ampitheater.  Tour the office, sip a hot coffee from Cosmos, enjoy baked goods from the SPRITES, have your photo taken with Santa Claus then find your seat for our traditional sing-along caroling in the amphitheatre.  Shuttles will begin running from the fire station at Vivera Drive at 5:30 pm.  Caroling, lead by That Music Lady Gina Seashore, will start … (0 comments)

An intriguing history of Mt Helix in La Mesa CA:
It started with 40 acres of neglected orange and lemon trees on a granite boulder-covered hillside east of La Mesa.
The year was  1903, and William Gross, a vacationing theatrical producer from Philadelphia PA , was visiting a new acquaintance, Ed Fletcher,  in Lemon Grove, and asking about investments. Mr Fletcher knew of an intriguing possibility–The Villa Caro Ranch, on the picturesque hill  overlooking the El Cajon Valley. The land, complete with home, was in foreclosure and the bank wanted $11,500; Gross wrote a check for $5750 and financed the rest … (3 comments)
