barnes real estate brokerage: How do you feel about the real estate business?
- 07/01/08 02:33 AM
It is no secret the Realtors are hurting. Many are getting other jobs. Many are waiting for their phone to ring, But some are closing deal. How? You have to make something happen. For me work force housing is selling. So one day a week a pick an apartment complex and knock on every door. This is a job, one that if you don't move your feet you don't eat. Every deal I did last year was at least a million dollars, Now I am targeting 250K and under. Why? No closing no check... and bills don't stop just because the (6 comments)
barnes real estate brokerage: What you need to know to go Bottom fishing for Real Estate Deals
- 07/01/08 01:58 AM
Every one wants a Deal. I do. Don't you. What is a Deal?A deal is a Frame of mind. How do you spot a deal? You must be educated on the market.Due diligence is a must. You Must know... What was borrowed on the property, what it sold for, what income will it produce (weather you are plan to rent it or not) You must understand yield & capital appreciation. Make offers... If you want a deal it takes work. You will reach alot of dead end.But you only need one good deal.

barnes real estate brokerage: Grow Money with little risk
- 07/01/08 01:18 AM
I'm not sure if people really understand the value of timberland. Timberland is diffrent than most other investments. If your investment horizen is long term, then risk/return ratio can not be beat. It DOES NOT corralate to the stock market. This is an investment that really grows. You can enjoy this investment. The tree don't mind if you hunt or fish. To me their is nothing better than spending a few days in the woods. If you have a gulf front rental and you use it... down goes your income... if you use it too much... bye-bye investment status with the (0 comments)
barnes real estate brokerage: oil and gas

Gas prices effect most people these days. The best thing we can do to help is not drive. We are competing for gas. If we slow down consumption it may help for a little while. Did you know China's middle class is about the same as the United States. The want to drive and they will. Something will give.... Price.... UP UP UP. Untill we have a solution, Not ethonal, we will continue to pay more for gas.

barnes real estate brokerage: Land...
- 01/15/08 07:08 AM
Who does not want to own land? This country was founded on the desire for land. It makes it an attractive investment. Land does not get destroyed. Nor does it get up and walk away. Land ownership changes your life. It was used to define class. It will always be a good investment. Alabama still has cheap land and it is very beautiful. I own Alabama land.

barnes real estate brokerage: WOW... Real Estate is Selling
- 01/12/08 08:17 PM
Well the market is getting strong... I had 6 homes to show a client. Now, 3 are under contract. Now is the time to buy. The market has been over sold. I do believe that this is the time to buy. The international demand has spiked as well. I am telling agents to play the exchange rate and beef up their international exposer. Residential is a stupid good deal. People are starting to pull the trigger more and more. The time has come to invest in your future and business. You do have to pay to play.
