Opportunity is sometimes difficult to recognize.
If you're not VERY careful, you might just step in a big pile of it unknowingly.
Opportunity often lurks in the shadows and rarely shows up when expected.
Opportunity hides in the brush and slithers up and BITES YA!
There's not really much of anything you can do to protect yourself from Opportunity because it is EVERYWHERE!
If you are an Opportunity-phobic, you might consider becoming a hermit, because opportunity will find even the most fearful among us.
With this level of DANGER ever present, what can you DO to protect yourself.

Did you happen to catch the news story of the rescue of the captain of the Cargo ship that was hijacked by Somali Pirates?
There they were - The Captain and his 3 Captors - An AK-47 squarely aimed at the Captain's back - in a fully enclosed capsule about the size of your 1/2 bathroom . . . for the better part of 3 days . . . surrounded by US Navy warships.
Negotiations for release were not going well.
US Navy seals were studying and strategizing a way to save the captain with minimal injury and knowing the stakes … (0 comments)

focus: Spring Break - 03/16/09 12:41 AM
Remember when you were young and in school, the excitement that surrounded the coming of Spring Break?
We're in the midst of that now with our 3 young ones.
It all really started with Ash Sunday - the beginning of Lent. This is the first year that all of our children are knowingly participating having given up CANDY for Lent.

Whenever I start an important project, someone interrupts me so I rarely finish.
I'm SO easily distracted even when I'm trying to do IMPORTANT stuff.
I have LOTS of great ideas but rarely get started with them.
I'm a "Master Procrastinator" - that can wait til later.
I don't want to set goals any more because I never seem to reach them. Setting goals is like setting myself … (5 comments)

Most nights, we have home-cooked meals in our house,
Both Deb and I enjoy cooking.
Deb's cooking is more gourmet than mine - But that's another story.
Our family also likes to eat food cooked by other people (restaurants), and we have our favorites.
"Greasy Chinese"
"Healthy Chinese"
"Authentic Italian" (Either from local Family Restaurant or big chain)
"Pizza from the grocery or delivered"
How this food gets to our table depends on:
What we "feel like eating" . . .
The convenience factor . . .
Do we want to gather the tribe and load into the car and journey to … (1 comments)
