Interest Rates finished the week last week at 6.375% for a 30 year fixed on Monday August 25, 2008. That is up just a bit. Interest rates have continued to be a bit unstable. We don't see interest rates coming down anytime soon. Current real estate listing inventory - 218 active listings in Owatonna as of today. The active listing count has stayed fairly constant. We would like to see it down about 30 listings but at least it hasn't soared this summer like last year. The number of pending listings is at 38 homes. This continues to be a good … (1 comments)
minnesota: Fantastic Mid-Winter Golf Outing. In Minnesota?

That's right, we had an office golf outing yesterday here in SE Minnesota. How you ask? Well the owners of the company we work at came up with an ingenious solution to the snow covered- frozen ground issuse. We had our 9 hole outing here in the office. They designed a course throughout the office with a course map of where the holes were, the par on the hole and where the tee box was. They then taped the "holes" down to the carpeting (several were pen/pencil holders, some were drinking cups) with clear packing tape. They provided a number of different clubs, … (6 comments)

5:00 PM Saturday March 1, 2008 that is the day & time that signalled the end of the curling season here in Owatonna, MN. Not because winter is over by any means but because we lease our refrigeration from Steele County and they need to shut off the cold and melt the ice for other events in some of the buildings. I'm not complaining about the County mind you, they are awesome to work with, is just sad to see the curling season come to an end.
