The buyers agency contract is an agreement between an agent and buyer that sets up a relationship where the buyer is represented by the agent in the purchase of property. The buyers agent can provide services that are not offered to customers. With oil prices at an all time high many people are wondering how they will pay for their heating costs this year. Ulster County is beginning a plan to aid and protect residents from the high costs of the winter heating season.

There are many reasons that investing in land makes sense. Beyond development- there are other purposes for investing in land. When you live in the city or suburban areas, land is a rare commodity, but there are certainly many areas of the country that has beautiful undeveloped areas that can be used for your enjoyment.

I have two daughters, Heather and Becky. Heather, my oldest owns and operates an oil company with her husband Chris Erichsen. I am blessed with two wonderful "sons" in-law. Jason is married to Becky, He commutes to New Jersey, He is a tv director.

I am spending some time at our second home. It is a tiny cabin in Gilbertsville New York. The ride from our home in Ulster County takes about 2 1/2 hours. Because of the blessings of a daughter who takes over when I am away, cell phones and high speed internet I am able to stay on top of my real estate business even though I am not in Ulster County.
The ride up here yesterday was amazing. Our ride takes us through mountains, little hamlets and small college towns. The views are astounding.

The Ulster County Housing Consortium, a group of 22 government and civic organizations, has posted an online survey to get a better understanding of how the current economy is perceived to be affecting the affordability and availability of housing in Ulster County.

Saturday we celebrated my Dad's 85th Birthday!
We had a family reunion for the ever faithful New York Mets fan.
My dad, Nathan Brown is the best. This year has been a tough one he had brain surgery in April to reduce a pressure from fluid build up on his brain. He is doing fine.
When I brought him to the hospitol for his presurgical testing it was the first time he was in the hospitol. He was born at home.

The blueberries in New York State are ripe and ready to pick.
This weekend we took my oldest two granddaughters to our cabin in Otsego County in New York.
While there we picked some delicious blueberries.. and enjoyed the results. While picking we ate our share.
On Sunday we had fresh blueberry pancakes.

This is the third in a series discussing real estate forms and contracts used in New York State.
It is a federal law that a buyer or tenant who purchases or rents a home built prior to 1978 must be furnished a booklet explaining the dangers of lead in the home.
