Land- A great investment "They aren't making it anymore"-
There are many reasons that investing in land makes sense. Beyond development- there are other purposes for investing in land. When you live in the city or suburban areas, land is a rare commodity, but there are certainly many areas of the country that has beautiful undeveloped areas that can be used for your enjoyment.
We own land in the Town of Butternuts New York.

Originally purchased as an investment we have come to know that the land can be enjoyed. My husband being a hunter knew from the start what he … (12 comments)

barbara carter: TLC~ Fixer Upper~ Handyman? - 08/24/08 01:07 PM
Handyman? Fixer Upper? You may have read these real estate listings.
Homes that are in need of repair may scare people off for fear that there is too much work to be done. Others see it as an opportunity to make the home their own.
On of the misconceptions about fixer uppers is that a lot of the money to do the repairs will need to be cash on hand. Actually, many lenders offer renovation loans that will be a single loan to purchase and fix up the property. These loans actually make sense because the renovation cost is spread over … (6 comments)

I am spending some time at our second home. It is a tiny cabin in Gilbertsville New York. The ride from our home in Ulster County takes about 2 1/2 hours. Because of the blessings of a daughter who takes over when I am away, cell phones and high speed internet I am able to stay on top of my real estate business even though I am not in Ulster County.
The ride up here yesterday was amazing. Our ride takes us through mountains, little hamlets and small college towns. The views are astounding.
The farmland is being harvested so the roadside farm … (6 comments)

This is a post written by Becky Cook-  this is great advice for home buyers-

As real estate agents, buyers look to us to be experts about our area.  And we are.  But there are some questions we just can't answer.  I'm often asked, "Is this a nice neighborhood?" or "Are the schools good here?".  Not only are these tough questions to answer- because it depends on your prespective but I also legally can't answer them.
Fair housing laws require that I show you all homes that match your search critiera.  If you say you want a 3 bedroom 2 … (0 comments)

A recent Blog from my friend and fellow blogger Fran Gaspari Realty And Reality...Another Overview...!!!  had me thinking.....
Realty and Reality.... The words are so similar- Fran does a great blog on virtual and reality in real estate and in life. It, as are all of Fran's blogs, is a great read.
The thing that stuck with me, though, is the difference in the two words- Realty and Reality. As agents for buyers and sellers our fiduciary (I love that word) duty is to our client always putting them first. When I took my first real estate class, my instructor, … (9 comments)
