"Frosty the Snowman" & "Yes Virginia"- Watch on TV with your Kids Tonight
Be sure to watch these shows on TV tonight, December 6, 2013 from 8-9 pm on CBS.

Frosty the Snowman is an animated adaption of Romeo Mueller's story. This is a story that many of us have been watching for years. I personally love to watch this every year when it appears on TV. I find myself singing the song "Frosty the Snowman" for a day or more. One great thing about this show is that it is narrated by Jimmy Durante.

holidays: Happy Labor Day Monday September 2, 2013 - 09/01/13 10:33 PM
Happy Labor Day Monday September 2, 2013
The first Labor Day holiday was celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 1882, in New York City, in accordance with the plans of the Central Labor Union. The Central Labor Union held its second Labor Day holiday just a year later, on September 5, 1883.
More than 100 years after the first Labor Day observance, there is still some doubt as to who first proposed the holiday for workers.
Some records show that Peter J. McGuire, general secretary of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners and a cofounder … (8 comments)

St. Patrick's Day along with some Myths and Traditions
The Day of the Festival of Patrick is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated on 17 March every year. It is named after Saint Patrick (AD 385–461), the most commonly recognized of the patron saints of Ireland.
Until the 17th century, BLUE was the official color of St. Patrick's Day. Over the past 400 years, the vibrant GREEN of the lucky shamrock came to symbolize Ireland's patron saint.
Irish Folklore says that Saint Patrick used the 3 Leafed Shamrock to teach pagans the history of Christian … (8 comments)

Hi Everybody,
I made this recently for Christmas and received many requests for the recipe. It is a little different than the other recipes in books and on the internet. I make it a little less sweet since the sauce is very sweet. Enjoy©

2 Cups Milk or Half and Half
1 ¼ Cup Granulated Sugar

Black Friday Violence- Do Retailers Promote this Violence with Their Sale Practices?
Here is a video of a huge number of customers going into a Victoria Secret store at midnight inside a mall. Amazing!

All I have heard on the news this weekend was the hype about the violence across the nation for “Black Friday”. The retailers for many years typically have opened up on Friday morning after Thanksgiving at 6:00 am but for the past few years, more stores have started opening earlier and earlier.
The violence seems to increase yearly and 2011 seemed to be … (12 comments)

holidays: Blue Bird Come Out of the Tree - 12/20/11 11:05 AM
Today, while driving home from our office meeting and ALC meeting, I stopped at the Lowe’s parking lot in Redlands, CA. Recently, I noticed the birds seem to hang around there. As I was waiting, a blue bird flew by and sat on the curb beside me. I was so excited but unfortunately missed that great first shot. But I did get some other good ones.

Get out of the tree so I can take your picture!

Just sitting there posing for me.

Flew down to the sidewalk but he is now hiding; you can only see his head.

The Photo Contest-  ©My Cookie Tree©
Here is my Kitchen Cookie Tree. All the ornaments are shaped like cookies or actual cookie cutters. I put some recipe cards on the tree held with tiny clothespins. The recipes were my mother’s cookies, baked breads and her southern cornbread. She may have passed on in 2009 but she is still in my heart © and a part of our family. I think she would like the tree if she were here. My daughter is flying in next week and I think she will be surprised. Making cookies has been a family tradition since … (18 comments)

holidays: Mother Nature Decorating for the Holidays - 12/14/11 04:50 AM
©Christmas Berry Bush Blooming for the Holidays©
I spotted this huge "Christmas Berry" bush growing about 10 feet high near the Alta Vista Credit Union in Loma Linda. How beautiful it looked standing there with all its huge clumps of berries. No birds around!  I am not sure but think the berries are not edible. Too bad as they look delicious and birds always searching for food in the winter.

Still the bush, or should I say tree, is lovely. Isn't it lovely the way Mother Nature decorates for us! Happy Holidays.

Tonight I went to the Riverside Galleria Mall in Riverside, CA. This first picture is of an absolutely gorgeous tree outside the Cheesecake Factory. It was totally covered in lights. Everyone seemed amazed and standing around taking pictures.

This second tree was inside Nordstrom’s Department Store. It was so unique that I had to share. It had numerous birdhouses and a few birds on the tree.

I love this tree!

I got up at 5:30 a.m. to get some lunar eclipse pictures but unfortunaely it was just too cloudy here.

I took pictures from 5:47 a.m. until 6:35 a.m but no eclipse here!

I took some sunrise pictures so it wouldn’t be a total loss.

My dog, Tootie, got up with me and she is not a morning girl. Followed me around taking pictures but finally ran upstairs.

Mom, I am going back to bed!”

So Sad...Waiting for The FedEX Truck!!!!

Every morning, my CoCo sits at the front door waiting for the FedEx Truck to zoom down the street at 50 miles per hour. She loves to bark at the truck. She goes to the door right after she eats breakfast and will wait all day until the truck arrives. She likes the UPS truck too but he doesn’t drive as fast or make as much noise.
Today, we have 3 packages being delivered so CoCo will be really excited since the truck will be stopping.

She also waits for the pool man and the … (24 comments)

Last night I attempted to make the perfect Gingerbread House. Well, it may not be perfect but I think it turned out cute and very colorful. I am taking it to the “Toys for Tots” event today in San Bernardino so it can be on display with other Gingerbread Houses. Remember, it is for the children. We want them to be happy and have that sparkle in their eyes! Take your donations to your local Fire Depts.
