kristin sells homes: Lots of Bull in Yucaipa

Lots of Bull in Yucaipa While going for a listing appointment I came across these cows and bulls up in the north end of Yucaipa where there are a lot of ranches and fields of cows, pigs, goats and horses. I came across these long horn steers and noticed the baby calf so I just had to stop after the appointment and take a few pictures. Unfortunately I did not have my good camera so here they are taken on my iPhone.
I've lived in Southern California all my life. I love this area in the Inland Empire and I enjoy sharing. My many (10 comments)

Do You Know the Fair Housing Rules about Service Animals From the Real Estate Files 2.pub Service Animals Many landlords and property managers do not know that people with disabilies have the right under both Federal and California Law to use the services of a guide, signal or service animal and to keep those animals in their residences. In fact, a “service animal” is specifically defined by law to not be considered a “pet.” They are given the same definion as an auxiliary aid such as a wheel‐ chair, walker etc. A service animal can be any species. On my daughter's graduation day from high school at the Loma Linda Academy, her and her two best friends since 1st grade all got silly glasses and posed for a picture a-f-t-e-r the certificate ceremony. Her father and I were worried that she would do something stupid during the ceremony but we dodged that bullet. Of course many parents did not as about 1/2 of the graduates did pranks during the event. This is one of my favorite pictures as these girls all received terrific grades and had been accepted into a 4 year ceremony (25 comments)
In the past 8 years, we have seen the real estate market zoom extremely high and then take a big dive which was crushing to many if not most homeowners across the nation. In the past several years people have seen the prices come back up and of course this is a positive move for all of us. Many homeowners held on to wait out the real estate crash to finally have gained equity and not be underwater. There are many factors for this positive movement (12 comments)
The Lighthouse located on the banks near Sandy Hook has been standing bright for 250 years. The lighthouse was built by the Colonists in 1764 and has been in service the entire time except during WWll when the light was turned off and it was painted gray to conceal it. The beacon was constructed out of a granite substance called rubble stone and continues to throw a 12 mile beam out into the Atlantic Ocean. It shines a 1,000 watt bulb called an oblong (14 comments)
Clogged drains – Pour a cup of baking soda down the drain, followed by a cup of vinegar. As they bubble down the clogged drain, follow with at least a teapot full of boiling water. Closet Odors - Put several dryer sheets in the linen closet to remove the musty smell. This also works in your clothes closet and specifically in the shoe slots or inside the shoes. Dishwasher Odors- Try running a load with Lemonade Kool-Aid or a vinegar and lemon juice mixture. Carpet stains – Put a (16 comments)

Have You Updated Your ActiveRain Profile Yet? Yesterday ActiveRain's Bob Stewart held an informative webinar regarding how to update our profiles. It was very informative and plus it got me motivated to find the time to actually work on it. Kerrie was there to give us all the links and some important specifics about the site. All in all, it was a very good hour and here is a summary of what I got from the webinar.
Change your Header Picture: Must be 600X200 or larger. It defaults as nice blue and white clouds. I changed mine to some California (68 comments)
kristin sells homes: Sellers Beware....Pitfalls of Over Pricing Your Home
- 04/02/13 07:35 PM
Sellers Beware....Pitfalls of Over Pricing Your Home It's hard for homeowners to be realistic when they are emotional about the home they have lived in and raised their family in. But this is exactly what sellers need to do so that they can make rational decisions about a list price that will actually result in a sale.
Your decision should be based on homes that have sold in your area that could be considered somewhat comparable to your home; Realtors and Appraisers called them ‘comps’. Stop in at a few open houses in your neighborhood and see how they compare (8 comments)
This beautiful lily plant was in my yard and recently started blooming even though it had been ignored all winter. It bloomed just for Easter.

I have had the same website since I started real estate and frankly, I need a new one quick.
Everyone seems to have nice boxes for visitors to click in but I do not.
I must give my notice within the next month as they just have a 30 day window before it expires.
So does anyone have any good recommendations for a web site? I am not looking for anything super expensive but just want something that does the job for a fair price.
My closet was not organized as I had left the original rods that came when we bought the house. So last weekend, I totally ripped out all the shelves and rods. I painted the closet a more soothing color than white. I selected a nice color called “sweet honey” and it warmed it up.
I have a lot of clothes, purses and shoes so I had to find an organizer that would give me the most use of space. I looked (10 comments)
kristin sells homes: It's February....Is Your House in Order?
- 02/19/13 06:35 AM
It is February....Is Your House in Order? It is the middle of February and we are always focused on our listings and our clients but are we always focused on our own house? Maybe not, so I have just gone through my house this past weekend and cleaned filters, replaced batteries which should be done every 6 months. Then there are a few other things that need to be done once a year to keep our house cleaner. All of these items will keep us safe, healthy and happy.
Replace the batteries in your thermostats. (14 comments)
This business was started in 1969 in Portland Oregon by Robert Dussin, Navy Veteran, and his wife. The Dussins’ started out on a shoestring and based their future business on honesty, dignity, respect and good food which did indeed make their restaurant chain a great success. Read their story here!
Their 46 restaurants all over the United States, Canada and Japan are truly a dining experience for the whole family. They try to open up in historical buildings like old train stations. Mrs. Dussin personally decorates the restaurant with antique stain glass displays, (6 comments)
Yesterday we had a huge rain/thunderstorm all over Southern California. We really need the rain so I am not complaining but my backyard birds were very unhappy and drenched. Today the rain had cleared out and we finally had sunshine by noon.
The city of Loma Linda is full of wildlife and birds in the south end of the city. Almost daily I see Red Hawks and Owls flying around. Squirrels and cottontail rabbits are scattered about and running around. Plus you never know what you might see up on the hiking trails.
Today I also saw an egret hanging around the park eating worms in the rainstorm. Many animals and birds have made Loma Linda, CA their home. (10 comments)
I met with one of my dearest friends for her birthday Friday. As we were saying good-bye, she handed me a huge bag of lemons from her two lemon trees. So I brought them home and put them in a big bowl with some tangerines. I think fruit sitting in a pretty bowl in the kitchen looks so beautiful and smells so clean and fruity. I love the citrus aroma. But what to do with 30+ lemons as I cannot drink that much water and lemon slices so I need to cook (8 comments)
I live in Southern California and we typically have very mild weather but this morning it was freezing. My thermometer had frozen at 40 degrees on the patio as it was around 29 degrees. Then I notice my fountain had stopped working….what!
So I ran out to find out why and realized it had frozen. So of course I ran and took some pictures.
Yesterday morning the finches had been diving and taking baths in the fountain but not a finch in site (17 comments)
