kristinhamiltonrealtor: Holiday Decorations Day 1
- 12/01/15 05:38 AM
Holiday Decorations Day 1 This weekend I went shopping at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA. It is known as one of the most popular malls in the US and they spare nothing in decorations to make it an enjoyable experience. Most of these decorations are 3 floors high so I could not get the entire picture. This is my favorite and it has a train ride on the lower floor for little kids to ride. Yes, just going to this mall is an experience and it has over 150 stores which are mostly top brand designers and a few large department stores plus (6 comments)

kristinhamiltonrealtor: Do You Have an Annual Thanksgiving Tradition?
- 11/26/15 04:42 AM
Do You Have an Annual Thanksgiving Tradition? Do you have an annual Thanksgiving Day tradition? Many people travel, some go to a football game, watch the Macy's Day Parade on TV or go in person to see it, or just get together with family for a terrific feast? My kids have always loved the Pillsbury Orange Rolls. These are the ones you buy in the grocery store and bake in the oven. So when they were little, they would always remind us to buy these rolls for Thanksgiving and Christmas mornings. So here started our family tradition to have these warm and delicious (32 comments)
kristinhamiltonrealtor: Trivia Facts About Thanksgiving Day to Share
- 11/26/15 02:45 AM
Facts About Thanksgiving Day to Share The 1st Thanksgiving is documented on Nov 21, 1621, a year after 102 English citizens fled England. They were commonly called "the Pilgrims" and anchored on the banks of Cape Cod. They arrived on a small ship called the Mayflower and the trip took 66 days. The feast was said to be a 3-day event and was a celebration of a good harvest of squash, beans, and corn and learning skills to hunt and fish. The celebration feast was shared with North American natives who had taught them to grow food, hunt and fish. Unfortunately (12 comments)

- 11/26/15 01:37 AM
My Mother’s Southern Cornbread Dressing Recipe This was my mother's Cornbread Dressing recipe that had been passed down from her mother and grandmother in Tennessee. She made the cornbread the night before and then the next morning she would make the stuffing and of course I always helped since I was a little girl. It has become a holiday tradition and my daughter and I still make it every Thanksgiving and Christmas. Yummy! Ingredients: Crumbled Cornbread from Recipe below. 1 Large Onion cut up. 2 Cups chopped up Celery. 1 cup Butter 5-7 cups Chicken Broth warmed 1-2 cups chopped up Mushrooms (optional) (5 comments)

Throwback Thursdays- A Surprise Photo of my Parents Just Married in 1939 My cousin (my dad's side) had a birthday recently and I sent him a card. The next thing I know he had sent me this photo of my mom and dad. He is on one of those anchestor websites and said someone had sent it to him. The second I saw the screen shot name, I knew it was my 2nd cousin Will on my mother's side.
I have so many photos of my parents when they were first married, then during my dad's first 3 years in the military. Then (22 comments)

kristinhamiltonrealtor: A New Way to Sell Real Estate by Using Cats & Dogs Videos
- 11/16/15 02:37 AM
A New Way to Sell Real Estate by Using Cats & Dogs Videos We are always trying to think out of the box to stand out from others or to attract potential buyers for our listings. This morning I saw where a real estate team had prepared two videos and posted to attract buyers. I believe this is very cute and these videos may go viral and hopefully get their properties sold quickly. One video was done with kittens they borrowed from a local shelter. The second one was done with a corgy dog who played a Realtor which I have included below. Good (20 comments)
kristinhamiltonrealtor: Do You Remember Your First?
- 11/15/15 12:41 AM
Do You Remember Your First? Your First Listing or Sale Many years ago when I started selling real estate, I knocked on a door that had a FBSO sign on the front porch. During my 2 week training, the company had suggested door knocking but I had dismissed this idea since I hate people knocking on my door. Well, to make a long story short, the very nice couple called me 1 day later and said "Please bring the contracts over as we are ready to have you list our home". This of course was music to my ears! I sold it within 25 (8 comments)

kristinhamiltonrealtor: Would You Buy This House...Poor Photo
- 11/10/15 12:59 AM
Would You Buy This House...Poor Photo I feel as a real estate professional that is my duty to do the very best job for my client and also feel it is a reflection on all of use when someone fails to meet the basic criteria. Recently, I received a listing from one of the major internet advertisers and I couldn't believe the photo. Yes, this is the only photo for the house. Our MLS has standards one being the first photo MUST be the front of the house. Also our MLS allows us 36 photos which gives the viewer a pretty good idea (24 comments)
kristinhamiltonrealtor: Riverside Historical Home- Just Closed Escrow
- 11/08/15 08:37 AM
Riverside Historical Home $252,500- Just Closed Escrow I recently sold this great 1925 Craftsman style home in the "Downtown Historical District" of Riverside. One of the unique things about this home was that it was located in the 'first block' of the city when created in 1925. I was excited to be the listing agent of the sale of this great older home which had been well taken care of, remodeled and had a lot of major upgrades plus you could tell it was well loved.
When we talk about curb appeal, we usually mean green grass, flowers, welcome mat and nice paint. Now (6 comments)

National Cat Day was founded in 2005 by Pet and Family Lifestyle Expert & Animal Welfare Advocate Colleen Paige. This day was created to get the public to recognize the number of cats that need to be rescued each year and also to encourage cat lovers to celebrate the cat(s) in their lives for the unconditional love and companionship they bestow upon us. I am a dog person but love cats and used to have a orange Tabby cat who lived to be over 20 years old. I still miss my Tabby cat who was (9 comments)

kristinhamiltonrealtor: Do Your GOOGLE+ Posts Share to Public or Private
- 10/11/15 06:37 AM
Do Your Google+ Posts Share to Public or Private? Today as I was updating my links and looking at all my social media icons on my Activerain blog, I clicked on all the links to make sure they work. As I believe this is a good idea to do periodically I clicked on all the icons. When I got to my Google+ site, I was horrified to see that most of the recent posts were shared PRIVATE and not PUBLIC. So I then realized I had forgotten to change the settings before posting.
I thought I would share this info with you so (16 comments)

Do You Have a Plan If You Get a Mandatory Evacuation Order Be Prepared This week while I was away at a Women's Council of Realtors Conference in Northern California, my husband was at home with our two dogs. He got a knock on the door at noon and when he opened the door, it was a Deputy Sheriff letting him know that there was a major gas leak nearby and he had to evacuate RIGHT THEN. He put on the dogs halters and leashes and put them in the car and drove out. About this time he called me to alert me of the (19 comments)

I See You Hiding There While watering my backyard plants, I noticed this little Pansy peeking out the large pot full of Honey Suckle and Wild Poppies. What a nice suprise.

I enjoy finding squirrels peeking up out of their holes and birds hiding up in trees. Nature gives us such beauty and an appreciation of the outdoors. I've lived in Southern California all my life. Hope you Didn't Miss the Solar Eclipse Supermoon? Supermoon over the Inland Empire On Sunday September 27, 2015 at 7:11 pm EST we had a double celestial spectacular event with a Lunar Ecipse and a Supermoon over Southern California. This moon is also known as a Blood Moon and it does look like one, doesn't it?
This first picture was taken just around 7:15 pm. After that, it became so dark that I couldn't find it for almost 1 hour but then it showed up again!
Then I took another one at 8:20 pm at the end of the eclipse. The Meteorologist on the television had said if (26 comments)
