Milliannials' Obstacles to Purchase a Home

Here is a simple chart prepared by C.A.R. (California Association of Realtors) with data supplied by NAR.

As the chart shows there are quite a few reasons that Millennials do not run out and buy homes right out of school. Many have lived on credit cards and student loans during the college years and now they need to find a good paying job and pay down the credit cards and start paying off those nagging student loans.
Credit Scores can be a problem due to late payments or sometimes there is no credit at all if parents have supplemented … (6 comments)

Meet Up in the Inland Empire During a Rainstorm
Karen Sanchez (Victorville) and I (Redlands) planned a meet up at Buffalo Wild Wings in San Bernardino last Thursday May 14, 2015.
The day came and the weather did not look promising but we went anyway. Unfortunately we were the only two that showed. We had a good time and got to know each other better. We shared some business tips and discussed our areas. We both brought our iPads so we had them out on the table with us. The waiters/waitresses must be used to customers with their computers and tablets.
We ordered lunch … (16 comments)

National Star Wars Day- May the Fourth Be With You
Today May 4th is National Star Wars Day. Lucasfilm spokeperson say it all started in May 4, 1979 when Margaret Thatcher took office as the UK Prime Minister. The Conservative Party placed an ad in the newspaper stating  "May the Fourth Be With You, Maggie. Congratulations!" and the media picked up on it and here we are today 36 years later loving Star Wars thanks to social media and of course some great movies.

So celebrate at your favorite pub, put on your costume if you still have one, or rent a Star … (14 comments)

Where Did My Zillow Agent Profile Go? Better Check Yours!

Long before Trulia had Realtor profiles, I started putting all my listings on Zillow (10 years +) along with a detailed profile and had recomendations from past clients. Several years ago I added most to Trulia so many were on both sites; Zillow and Trulia.
A couple of days ago Zillow sent me an update on several closed sales telling me the values has increased. But when I clicked on my profile it said "Hello Kristin" but no profile, no listings, no closed sales. Where did it go?
Of course I found the contact … (6 comments)

Sending New Years Cards to Clients/Friends & Remembering Karen Anne Stone

Last night I pulled out all my Snowman Greeting cards to mail out to friends, family and clients. I always write a note as I think it is important to write something personal instead of some "Generic Greeting".

I think it is important to send cards through the mail (snail mail) as everyone likes to get cards from the mailman.

Email is easy and quick but hand written envelopes and cards are more personal and make people feel important. I love to read letters so I … (16 comments)

Things to Do to Improve Your FICO Score

Mortgage rates are at record lows, this is the time to refinance or buy a new home so there is no time like the presence to see if you qualify for refinancing or a purchase loan?
Mortgage Lenders  now have tighter loan qualification restrictions and your credit score, FICO, is how they determine if you qualify for a loan and at what interest rate will be based on your score. Credit scores are determined by a software algorithm that analyzes your credit and payment history.
FICO scores run between 300 and 850, … (9 comments)

Throwback Thursday- Silly Graduation Picture

On my daughter's graduation day from high school at the Loma Linda Academy, her and her two best friends since 1st grade all got silly glasses and posed for a picture a-f-t-e-r the certificate ceremony. Her father and I were worried that she would do something stupid during the ceremony but we dodged that bullet. Of course many parents did not as about 1/2 of the graduates did pranks during the event. This is one of my favorite pictures as these girls all received terrific grades and had been accepted into a 4 year ceremony … (25 comments)

What Do You Think of the New Facebook Messenger App

I had been getting a message from Facebook for several weeks to download the 'Messenger App' so this weekend I finally did it.
I immediately disliked it but put up with it for over a week. It is loud and dings when a message comes in. Plus it had the picture of the person sending the message up at the top of my phone. F-i-n-a-l-l-y I figured out how to remove the circle by dragging it down to the bottom and it disappears but the messenger logo stays up at the top … (46 comments)

Shell Angel from Hawaii..A Gift From My Friend

Today I met with one of my BFF's and she brought me a birthday gift. She had just gotten back from Hawaii and I had a feeling I was getting something from there.

She brought me this shell angel from Maui. Now, I really love it but it was especially 'Special' since today was my mother's birthday and unfortunately she died in 2007. So now when I put this angel on my tree, it will remind me of my mother as well as my friend who gave it to … (30 comments)

Bloomberg Says FICO Scores Soon May Be Re-Calculated and Rise

It was announced yesterday that consumers credit reports may soon be going up as some of the blemishes on their credit reports are going to be removed therefore making the FICO scores go up approximately 25 points.

It was calculated in 2012, that 1 in 4 consumers had a medical bill that had not been paid in full or not at all due to lack of medical insurance and having to go to the emergency clinics for treatment. The emergency clinic rates are usually the highest rates for patients … (4 comments)
