This weekend I spent my days observing Earth Day 2012. First I went to Lowe's Home Improvement Center and bought an Apricot Tree, Cement Building Blocks and some flowers.
Went home and started my project. Here are some pictures of it.
This is the area where I added the planter and tree.
Here is the finished planter with blocks, tree, and flowers. I think it came out pretty nice and it balanced off the side yard. I did this for $60 total. I got a 10% coupon off Lowe's Realtor Benefits (8 comments)
lowes: Blue Bird Come Out of the Tree
- 12/20/11 11:05 AM
Today, while driving home from our office meeting and ALC meeting, I stopped at the Lowe’s parking lot in Redlands, CA. Recently, I noticed the birds seem to hang around there. As I was waiting, a blue bird flew by and sat on the curb beside me. I was so excited but unfortunately missed that great first shot. But I did get some other good ones.
Get out of the tree so I can take your picture!
Just sitting there posing for me.
Flew down to the sidewalk but he is now hiding; you can only see his head. (12 comments)
I decided it was time to spruce up my yard with a quick fix. When we bought the house 7 years ago there was just grass on the side so I planted a plum tree and made a stone planter around the tree with geraniums. Here are the pictures of before, during and after. Let me know what you think?
Here are the Before Pictures.
Here are the During Pictures.

lowes: Motivational Monday- The Birds and the Bees
- 10/02/11 06:35 PM
The Birds and the Bees I forgot to fill the bird feeder this morning. When I went outside, this bird was just sitting there looking at me like “Hello the feeder is Empty!” I was on the other side of the backyard with no tripod but still this bird has the cutest expression and just the stance is adorable. Here is a close up of the little bird.
And here is the bees. I confess, I was at Lowe's in Redlands and they had all kinds of flowers with bees buzzing around so I took a few shots.
