Today Friday August 26th is National Dog Day, an annual observance of honoring your pups and spreading awareness about rescue dogs. Started by pet expert Colleen Paige, National Dog Day is held every year on Aug. 26 — the anniversary of the day she adopted her first canine. It's a chance to donate to your local shelter, volunteer with animals or simply cuddle up to your furry friend.

yucaipa real estate: Lots of Bull in Yucaipa
- 04/06/16 02:21 AM
Lots of Bull in Yucaipa While going for a listing appointment I came across these cows and bulls up in the north end of Yucaipa where there are a lot of ranches and fields of cows, pigs, goats and horses. I came across these long horn steers and noticed the baby calf so I just had to stop after the appointment and take a few pictures. Unfortunately I did not have my good camera so here they are taken on my iPhone.

I came across an important day in history today and just had to mention it. I do not usually discuss anything religious but I just had to.......as she is one of my favorite people. On January 6, 1929, Sister Mary Teresa first came to Calcutta, India to take care of the poor and diseased and dying people in the world plus her love of orphans. Her love of people and care and compassion over the years have influenced the world and saved many. She was later renamed Mother Teresa for (10 comments)

Today, March 23rd is National Puppy Day so be sure to give your puppy or dog lots of hugs and love today. This date was selected by Colleen Paige of 'Pet Home' Magazine to remind others to take good care of your pets. It is also the day to spread the word about pet protection.
Their motto is "Rescue instead of Shopping" meaning they want you to find dogs in shelters and organizations instead of through breeders.
This was my puppy CoCo taken when she was 2 months old.
Mortgage Interest Deduction: This will be your highest tax break as a homeowner. When you first purchase a home, the majority of your monthly payment goes towards interest. Therefore, you can deduct all of the interest from your mortgage from your taxes. Refer to the Form 1098 that was sent from your lender which indicates how much money was paid in mortgage interest that year. Mortgage Insurance Premiums: Mortgages with a loan-to-value higher than 80% must also pay PMI (Private Mortgage Insurance). You may be able to deduct (10 comments)

State Highway Named for Slain Deputy Near Big Bear While coming from my new listing in Big Bear on Sunday, I took this picture on Highway 38. Sheriff's Detective Jeremiah MacKay of the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department, was a brave officer who lost his life in an ambush by fugitive Christopher Dorner in 2013. The five mile stretch between Angelus Oaks and Jenks Lakes Road has been renamed in his memory. MacKay was assigned to the Yucaipa Station and remembered by many. R.I.P. Deputy Mackay— at Jenks Lake, Highway 38, CA.

yucaipa real estate: Historic Yucaipa Roundabout Bridge and Statue
- 01/31/15 12:28 PM
Historic Yucaipa Roundabout Bridge and Statue In Yucaipa, where the downtown is actually Uptown, the city solved the congestion and made a roundabout which was completed in May 2012 and added 50 more parking spaces.
The yearly festival celebrates completion of an Uptown Streetscape project that narrows Yucaipa Boulevard from four lanes to two and includes two traffic-slowing roundabouts complete with several Yucaipa-themed sculptures. One statue created by Aaron Eby, depicts a farmer resting after a day of fruit picking seated on an orange crate with a tree behind him with leaves dripping rainwater. This entire area of San Bernardino and (7 comments)
Tonight, as I was lighting my fireplace, I had a memory of our New Years 26 years ago. We were living in our first new home and it had a fireplace up on a high hearth with a wooden mantel. Now this was back when blue was very popular so I had gone to several antique stores and bought these blue and white oriental places in many different patterns. We had gone to the Rose Bowl Swap Meet and I was nauseous the entire drive to Pasadena, while we were there (4 comments)
While on vacation last month, we went on a bus tour while in Hawaii and it was a 6 hour bus tour of the North Shore. I found it amazing and was hoping to see 'Sea Turtles'. One of the normal stops he used to make on the route was closed but we did get to go to the beach next door and were not disappointed as we saw many turtles riding in with the waves to eat. I was reading about these turtles and found they are (12 comments)
Winter has come early so it is a good time to think about saving energy in your home which in turn will save you money and this is something we all want to do.
Water Heaters: If your water heater is old, it might be worth it to buy a new one that is more efficient and has a built in water heater blanket. Make sure to turn your temperature down to 120 degrees and if it is in a cold, drafty room, put a water heater blanket on to (12 comments)

August 9, 1930 – Betty Boop makes her cartoon debut in Dizzy Dishes. Betty Boop was so popular but some cities banned her like Philadelphia as being too risque so when she returned a few months later, she had lost her garter. Betty Boop merchandise is very popular still today as they sell clothing, purses, stationary, jewelry and other memorabilia with the popular wide eyed girl. Betty was known for saying Boop-Ooop-a-Doop in a sexy manner. August 3, 1936 – Jesse Owens wins the 100 meter dash, defeating Ralph Metcalfe, at the Berlin Olympics. (12 comments)
I couldn't figure out how to tag someone on Monday morning. I am following him so I thought if I typed his name it would highlight like Facebook does but no way. I tried saving it and going in to edit but nothing. I knew it couldn't be so sophisicated that we would have to go and get the members link but still I couldn't figure it out. So this morning ActiveRain put this comment on the site.
This is a fairly new tree planted about 8-10 months ago.
It was full last fall and lost it leaves during the winter months. Then it bloomed this spring.
Spring arrived and it was full of leaves but then we noticed wasps on the tree all the time. There are no flowers but the wasps like to hang around every moring.
looks like something is eating on the leaves still. Do wasps eat leaves? Does anyone know what kind of tree this is (16 comments)
