yucaipa real estate agent: Happy Spring 2016.....Birds, Buds, Flowers and More
- 03/20/16 10:43 AM
Happy Spring 2016.....Birds, Buds, Flowers and More No matter where in the country you are, spring arrived this morning and of course here in Southern California we have lots of blooms, colors and the beginning of the migration of birds and yes even whales. I just love to see the birds flying around and waking up to them singing at sunrise. The sounds of spring are almost as wonderful as the colors. Between the lizards and the birds on my patio, I rarely see any insects crawling around. I have spring fever and am headed for the nursery to buy a new tree to be delivered (31 comments)

yucaipa real estate agent: Do You Have an Annual Thanksgiving Tradition?
- 11/26/15 04:42 AM
Do You Have an Annual Thanksgiving Tradition? Do you have an annual Thanksgiving Day tradition? Many people travel, some go to a football game, watch the Macy's Day Parade on TV or go in person to see it, or just get together with family for a terrific feast? My kids have always loved the Pillsbury Orange Rolls. These are the ones you buy in the grocery store and bake in the oven. So when they were little, they would always remind us to buy these rolls for Thanksgiving and Christmas mornings. So here started our family tradition to have these warm and delicious (32 comments)
I saw this movie recently "Evan Almighty" and the real estate agent "Eve Adams" portrayed by Molly Shannon was hilarious. The family moves to the Suburbs and they arrive to find this huge home and the agent meets them at the door of their Hummer when they pull up. Of course she is trying to get a photo of her with the family and popping her head up through the 5 of them standing there. She says "Say Escrow" instead of the typical phrase "cheese". It was such a funny moment and she (12 comments)
Though it is still winter in many parts of the country, in Southern California the ducks are getting ready for new spring families of ducklings. Our lakes and ponds are cold but not frozen over. Ducks and Geese are making nests and soon their families will be floating in the lakes and ponds.
The Canada Geese are struting around and looking for a good place to make a nest near the water.
Here is a cute picture of momma duck taking her ducklings into the pond in Calimesa last summer. (8 comments)

State Highway Named for Slain Deputy Near Big Bear While coming from my new listing in Big Bear on Sunday, I took this picture on Highway 38. Sheriff's Detective Jeremiah MacKay of the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department, was a brave officer who lost his life in an ambush by fugitive Christopher Dorner in 2013. The five mile stretch between Angelus Oaks and Jenks Lakes Road has been renamed in his memory. MacKay was assigned to the Yucaipa Station and remembered by many. R.I.P. Deputy Mackay— at Jenks Lake, Highway 38, CA.

yucaipa real estate agent: Do You Have Cord Management Issues?
- 12/16/14 04:02 AM
Do You Have Cord Management Issues? My office has had cords hanging over the top, on the floor, a track with 4 items plugged in and of course I am always tripping over it and worried someone else will too. This definitely is a hazard with the lamp, computer, iPad and cell phone all needing to be plugged in to recharge items daily.
Propped the desk upside down; we used plastic saw horses.
So with just a few items to purchase at the home improvement store, I was able to get someone to fix my cord issues (2 comments)
While on vacation last month, we went on a bus tour while in Hawaii and it was a 6 hour bus tour of the North Shore. I found it amazing and was hoping to see 'Sea Turtles'. One of the normal stops he used to make on the route was closed but we did get to go to the beach next door and were not disappointed as we saw many turtles riding in with the waves to eat. I was reading about these turtles and found they are (12 comments)

Ideas to Decorate Your House on a Dime for Thanksgiving
Suggestions: Craft stores and dollar stores have a great selection of decorations. Specialty stores have ideas and table decorations for a beautiful table. Add a few decorations to your current dishes, placements, tablecloths to make it festive. Linens and Dishes can be purchased and used over and over for many years. After Thanksgiving, most stores will greatly discount their decorations for next year. Box up your decorations and LABEL THE BOX so you can find them next year.
Here is a picture of turkey decorations we made (16 comments)
Deer Breeding Season is between October through January so beware of deer grazing off to the side of the road and then darting out in front of cats. These collisions can be serious for drivers and the animals. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, deer-vehicle collisions cause about 200 fatalities and $4 billion in collisions.
Slow down: You’ll have more time to react and stop when you encounter a herd of deer casually strolling on a twisty country road or highway. Watch for signs of Deer Crossing in wooded areas. Be extra cautious when driving (6 comments)
Decorating this season is fun and full of golden tones. Decorations, tree branches, turkeys on the table and melons sitting around. But just like curb appeal you want to say "Welcome" and "Please Come In" so if you do not want to put a wreath on the door, then perhaps a cute racoon to welcome the cool crisp weather of an early winter.
Winter has come early so it is a good time to think about saving energy in your home which in turn will save you money and this is something we all want to do.
Water Heaters: If your water heater is old, it might be worth it to buy a new one that is more efficient and has a built in water heater blanket. Make sure to turn your temperature down to 120 degrees and if it is in a cold, drafty room, put a water heater blanket on to (12 comments)

Recently I was in Kona, Hawaii and went to a chocolate plantation. We walked through the groves and saw the pods hanging on the trees. They were 3 or 4 colors but told they were all the same.
Here is a pile of the cocoa pods that were picked off the trees.
The little green Geckos like to lick the pods but do not eat them. These Geckos were so cute.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and now I know where chocolate comes from.
Every morning the Finches sing beautifully and they are so loud and echo throughout the house. Funny thing is I do not have a bird feeder for them yet but they are happy anyway. At my last house, I had 4 bird seed feeders and they never sang!
