Father, son, hot dogs, baseball and fire works. Does it get better than that on an August evening? Not for me, not last Friday. My eight year old son, Jack, myself and two neighbors and their sons went to USA National Training Center atThomas Brookes park to watch Team USA play Team Canada. It was very cool to see the field with the Olympic Rings and the Town of Cary logo, seriously how many towns have a picture like that one! Team USA will continue its trek to Bejing by passing through the Triangle this weekend. Playing a four game series with Team Canada in Cary and Bulls Park in Durham. The Friday game will be at 7:00 pm on August 01, 2008 at Thomas Brooks Park. Tickets can by purchased at USABaseball.com for both the Cary Game on Friday or the Saturday, Sunday or Monday games in Durham. These words are from the offical toast of North Carolina. If you are admitted to the Order of the the Long Leaf Pine you have "The special privilege to propose" this toast any where in the world. I am not in the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, and I doubt they will evey invite my Yankee behind. I do love that line.
