Sunday, August 23rd is the date for the Love for Life Benefit at Roosevelt Park in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. There is no charge to attend, many parts of the event are free with donations being accepted and all proceeds from this event will benefit the Beccee Smith- Kujawa family. Beccee is the mom of two young girls fighting stage three lung cancer. This event will include performances by the Eddie Butts, Rhythm Kings and Love Monkeys Bands. Shorewest Realtors hosted its Second Annual Rummage for Charity last Friday, June 5th and raised over $1000 for the Oconomowoc Food Pantry! This is double what was raised in 2008 and we wish to thank all Lake Country residents who donated or purchased items. On Friday, June 5th the Lake Country Shorewest Realtors Office will hold it's second annual Rummage for Charity from 8AM to 2PM. Last year over $1000 was raised for the Oconomowoc Food Pantry and the Oconomowoc High School DECA team. We hope to top that amount this year! You can help by donating items in good condition, especially household goods and furniture, sporting equipment and children's items. Items can be dropped off at the office located at 1296 Summit Avenue in Oconomowoc anytime after May 29th. Please feel free to call ahead to schedule a time to drop items off if you prefer. Imagine never being able to take your child to a playground because their physical limitations meant they couldn't play on any of the equipment. In 2009 Oconomowoc will add another feather to its cap with a universally accessible playground, called Imagination Station, to be built in June. Slated for Roosevelt Park, this community built playground, with total accessibility for children of all abilities, a central endeavor of the playground, will make it the first of its kind in Waukesha County.
