Today has been the most unusual, and shocking day I've ever spent living in Calgary, Alberta.
I woke up, just like any other day, bright and early.  I got ready for work and headed out to the car.  The first words I heard on the radio, as I pulled out into the driveway were from our Mayor, Naheed Nenshi, warning everyone to stay home.  "Stay away from down town Calgary," he said.

Almost 20 years ago, when I was working for a TV station in Lethbridge Alberta, we took part in the greatest Television Promotional Event on the Planet! 
Back then the station was called 2&7 Lethbridge, and together with our sister station 2&7 Calgary, we put on an event to promote our on-air programming of Star Trek: the Next Generation called Voyage to Vulcan.

 As I write, I'm sitting in the Planning Department of the City of Calgary waiting to apply for a stamp of compliance on my Real Property Report (RPR)... For the Second Time. 
If you're a home owner in Alberta, you my recall the Real Property Report.  It's a document prepared by an Alberta Land Surveyor that shows the boundaries of the property and the location of permanent buildings and improvements on the property.   A Certificate of Compliance is a confirmation by the City of Calgary that the locations of improvements on the property comply with the Land Use Bylaw.
