Today I will be taking my husband, Bud, there for his birthday.   We have signed up to taking a cooking class which is a 5 course meal, learning all the neat tricks from taste to cooking to presentation and then matching wines with the five courses.  The best part is that then … (5 comments)

The last film James Dean ever played in and the one that won him the posthumous Academy Award, Rebel Without A Cause, is scheduled to play at Koka Booth's Movies by Moonlight on September 2nd. To younger generation, this movie doesn't mean much. To others, it is a classic from the 50's with James Dean starring as the bad boy from a good family.
After being in trouble elsewhere, Jim Stark (James Dean) and his family have to move and start over again in Los Angeles. Jim feels he must prove himself since his relationship with his peers and own family … (1 comments)

Over the years the new Arts Center have meant something different to many people. For some, it was the High School they went to back before 1960. Then, it became a part of the old Cary Elementary building. It was a library, arts room, music center, and actual classes for students in Elementary. Then the new Cary Elementary was built. The L-shaped building was torn down and a new library was built inside the building so … (1 comments)

Since the 1980′s, Ms. Alison Krauss has been blessing the blue grass world with her vocals.  Her first album with Union Station came out in 1989 entitled “Two Highways”.  They certainly have come a long way from that time.
A few albums and new band members later, they are on tour and coming to Koka Booth Amphitheatre August 11th at 7:30pm.  Each member has had their own bustling career.  Alison has given her voice to music for a quarter of … (1 comments)

The Carolina Shag has been a part of NC history since the 1930′s.  It is in fact, our state dance.  I bet you didn’t know about that one.  This dance became very popular during the Big Band Era.  Nowadays, shag dancers will dance to beach music of a moderate tempo.  It is a six count partner dance that involved minimum movement of the upper body.  Most of the dance is focused around quick foot movement.

The Food Factory likes to think of themselves as a “New York deli on steroids”, which is an interesting concept.  They have almost 100 different sandwiches to choose from and they use Boar’s Head meats and cheeses for them all. Well…unless you don’t want cheese on it.  Just about everyone knows about The Food Factory in Cary.  They do not advertise though.  All the growth they have achieved has been through customers word of mouth recommendations.
