I have had a few calls over the holidays with people asking about homes in Steiner Ranch. For those that don't live in Austin yet, Steiner Ranch is a beautiful newer neighborhood. There are homes built from 1995-2011. These homes typically have over 3000 square feet, four bedrooms, three bathrooms and two or three living rooms. There are several builders working in this neighborhood: Meritage, Monterrey Homes, Drees Custom Homes, Highland Homes,and Taylor Morrison.  The prices range from $225K-$939K with the average price being about $450K. Manchaca is a quiet little town just about 17 miles south of downtown Austin. You won't find much here except the "Railroad BBQ" joint and the post office. There are a couple of churches, and a man who carves tree stumps into Indians and a multitude of other things. The big claim to fame is the train passes through Manchaca on the way to Austin. It is also home to one of the most famous local arbortists who owns "Its about Thyme" Nursery, they have a great selection of native trees, shrubs and flowering plants.
