I've been to a dozen flowers shows in Philadelphia, but never visited on a weekend, this was my first time and will, without a doubt, be the last. The crowds were suffocating. According to show organizers visits among children and students doubled, obviously because of the Disney theme.
This year, the “movie” theme was impressive even though all the displays were Disney flicks. (15 comments)
The Philadelphia International Flower Show is the world’s biggest and oldest flower Show, which blossoms between the end of February and the 1st week of March annually at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
This year's theme will be "ARTiculture: Where Art Meets Horticulture,” focusing on how landscapes, gardens and floral arrangements have inspired artists from the Old Masters to the Impressionists to today's Postmodernists. The main-entry feature will include 20-foot-tall frames of plants representing well-known paintings and sculptures created throughout the centuries.
