Once again, Denver residents have something to brag about. The most recent quarterly Manpower Employment Outlook Survey shows that employers in the metro Denver area will both continue to hire and hold off on staff reductions.  This makes Denver-Aurora the fifth best employment area in the country.
 
A Manpower spokesperson said that employers nation-wide expect stronger employment forecasts versus one year ago. But when compared to the nationwide numbers, Denver is well above the average.

If you’re a high-tech worker, Colorado is a very good place to live.  According to the recent Cyberstates 2011 report from the Tech America Foundation, Colorado has the third-highest concentration of high-tech workers in the country. There were 156,900 high-tech workers in Colorado in 2010, and the state’s high-tech payroll of $14.2 billion was 12th highest in the nation.
 
States were ranked in several different ways, including total number of high-tech employees, total number of high-tech firms, and total high-tech payroll. In 2010, Colorado had 87 high-tech workers per 1,000 private sector workers, giving it the number three ranking behind … (2 comments)

denver jobs: Denver Metro Area Expects Job Growth in 4th Quarter - 09/28/11 01:38 PM
If you live in the Denver Metro area and are searching for a job, you have a better shot of success than many in the country.  The Manpower Outlook Survey shows that employers in this area will continue to hire at a “steady pace” from October through December of 2011.
 
Of the companies interviewed for the survey, 16 percent will hire more employees and only 7 percent will likely reduce staff size.  About 73 percent of companies will keep staff levels current, and 4 percent don’t yet know what they will do.

The gap between talent and available jobs has caused firms across the country to get a bit more competitive. A recent RIS media article penned by Steve Cook seems to indicate an uptick.
