"The Appraisal Foundation (TAF) and CompuTaught, a leading developer of computer-based real estate education and part of Cengage Learning, have partnered to develop online versions of The Appraisal Foundation’s 2010-2011 15-Hour National USPAP Course and 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course."
The online versions of these courses will be offered through the CompuTaught learning system and will begin with the 2010-11 edition of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).

Just released; a press release announcing formally the partnership between CompuTaught and the Appraisal Foundation to develop the 2010-2011 USPAP in an online format.  In addition, CompuTaught will be developing the USPAP instructor re-certification course online for the 600 plus Certified USPAP instructors.

appraisal: Due Diligence for Choosing Your Quality Online Real Estate Education? - 01/18/09 06:07 AM
A simple question for you.  Do you really take time to review and understand where you are spending your money and time to satisfy your required  and elective professional education? And, if you are choosing online courses do you look beyond the cheapest priced courses.
Economic factors as a result of the downturn in the industry are forcing more and more in-class schools to close their doors and/or seek alternative sources of revenue to stay afloat. This has resulted in a rapid growth of Distance Learning in the Real Estate and Appraisal Professions. Particularly for Prelicense and Continuing Education.

appraisal: Hawaii Appraisal Board Votes to allow distance education fro Qualifying Courses - 01/13/09 11:00 AM
Had a discussion today with the executive director of the Hawaii Appraisal Board.  They voted recently to start allowing Appraisal Qualifying education via distance learning due to the lack of in-class courses. 
Even in the depressed economic conditions there are still people wanting to enter the real estate and appraisal professions.  Hawaii changing the rules is just another example of the migration from in-class to online education.
