keller williams: Hobbs Herder Presentation - 03/04/09 11:06 AM
Jig Patel, Hobbs Herder, did a presentation in our office today. Jig is an excellent presenter who challenged our Real estate mindsets.

Here a few gems from his presentation:

DECISION MAKING:
We are one decision away from changing the rest of our lives.

SYSTEMS:
Start with something small. One phone call. One email. Add to it every day.
Systemize it.
Don’t run your business.
Let the system run your business.

FOCUS:
In every opportunity there is risk.
Focus on opportunity not risk.

FAITH:
I will base my decisions on faith not fear.

keller williams: What Makes Us Different From Them? - 02/16/09 12:41 AM
Like most Realtors I have a keen curiosity about my fellow human beings. What makes us different is a question foremost in my mind as I shopped, toured and generally wondered around the City of Taipei. The language and food is really different. I speak absolutely no Chinese save for Shea Shea - Thank You. Ninety-nine percent of the restaurant menus in Neihu exclude English so I have resorted to pointing and smiling and wishing for the best.
So what have I found different in this place far from home where my size makes me an oddity? Let me tell you:

I invite you to stop by my blog and read about my experiences and my comments about life in Taiwan. Makes your comments and ask questions.
I’m looking forward to developing tons of relationships on AR during this time and when I return to Canada at the end of the month.

keller williams: Halleluiah I Find REAL Food - 02/05/09 09:45 AM
The Morning

For breakfast I had Kirkland brand Organic Raisin Bran with real cow’s milk and a cup of blueberry yogurt. That felt so good I had a toasted sesame bagel with Kirkland brand Organic Peanut Butter made with peanuts grown in the USA and KNOTT’S Berry Farm Strawberry Jam.

keller williams: A Change in Eating Habits - 02/03/09 09:47 AM
I don’t think of myself as a picky eater and there was a period thirty years ago that I ate in Vancouver’s Chinatown four or five times a week and learned to order several of my favorite dishes by their Chinese names.
The foods I’ve seen in the open markets are “interesting” but I’ve been hesitant to put unknown substances in my guts. Finding a public washroom here would be a challenge.
Bob ordered the famous Taipei Stinky Tofu because his western friends find it disgusting.

It was horrid but he seems to love it.
I was able find something … (2 comments)

keller williams: Bob Tends to a Cold and Channel Surfs - 02/02/09 07:48 PM

Taiwan Television on a Down Day

Tuesday is being spent at home getting rid of the cold I picked up the night before I left on Thursday so I have an excuse to spend much of the day channel surfing.

You might not miss your favorite American television show in Taiwan. There are several situation comedies and talk shows that are broadcast in English. I channeled surfed past an up to date Ellen today so I’m assuming Oprah has be here in the mix as well. There seems to be a base of educational and documentary programs that … (1 comments)

keller williams: Keller Williams Agent Gets Clipped in Taiwan - 02/02/09 12:44 PM
Sunday morning and I’m feeling cramped and twisted after the long flight and in need of a haircut so Bob and may give me a treat. On the main floor of their apartment building there is a barbershop operated by two ladies that also do massages. Before your imagination takes hold this was a family event with Bob, May and Silas in attendance.

The haircut was the most attentive that I probably have every experienced. It even included shaving my ears with a straight razor. Once my hair was cut it was washed, shampooed, rinsed and given a head massage. … (1 comments)

keller williams: Grandpa Goes Shopping - 02/01/09 08:27 PM
My First Shopping  Experience
Needing to purchase some personal items Bob took me to RT-Mart. You have never been shopping at a Big Box Store until you have been to an RT-Mart. Imagine combining Ikea, WalMart, T & T Asian supermarket, a car and scooter dealership and an open market.

keller williams: Come Fly With Me - 02/01/09 05:45 PM

Travel Day
January 30 & 31

I knew this was going to be a good day when I made it through security twice on the same day with out being setting off any alarms, sent to stand in the little corner, or having my belongings ripped apart. The security at both airports where very courteous but the staff at China Air was the best.

Off into the wild blue yonder we go right on time at 12:15am and I have an aisle seat, no seats in front and no one occupying the seat beside me. The guy two … (0 comments)

keller williams: activerain learning experience - 01/26/09 08:36 AM
Today is a great learning experience at Keller Williams Valley Realty.
I am sitting in our training centre with twelve other KW agents taking a activerain seminar. The class is being taught by our fabulous Team Leader Liz Moras is all atwitter with excitement at bringing our office into the activerain family.
This is pretty cool. I'm taking a class on activerain, watching activerain on the overhead projector and posting on activerain at the same time.
I better start paying attention.
