Murrieta News: The Do’s And Don’ts of Home Refinancing Over Age 50.
Nearing retirement? Thinking of taking advantage of the incredibly low mortgage rates to refinance your home? If so, here are a few do’s and don’ts that financial planners suggest you consider:
DON'T use the extra money to take on more risk. Some people are tempted to refinance so they can put the extra monthly "savings" into another investment like the stock market. But while the stock market has historically generated high returns (the average annual gain of the S&P 500 from 1926 to 2010 was 9.8%), to get … (5 comments)

It’s also a good time to replace the batteries in your smoke alarms. CAL FIRE and Riverside County Fire Department encourage everyone to use the start and end of daylight savings time as a reminder to change the batteries in their home’s smoke alarms as well.

Home Selling Tips: How Energy Efficient Is Your Home?
Energy is not cheap. It’s expensive. So what can you do to cut costs and save money? Well, you can start by downloading a free copy of the Home Energy Rating System (HERS) booklet.
California Home Sellers: It’s The Law. Thinking of selling your home? Then you need to know about the HERS booklet. California Civil Code Section 2079.10 requires the home seller (or the home seller’s real estate broker) to inform the buyer about the existence of the California Home Energy Rating Program. This requirement is fulfilled by providing the home … (11 comments)

Home Selling Tips in Murrieta, CA: How To Sell Your Home Fast - Price It Right
You may have heard that the three most important factors determining the resale value of your home are: Location, Location, Location. While a desirable location can enhance the value of your home, it may not necessarily translate into a quicker sale. Why? Because your home’s current value is heavily influenced by the price of homes that recently sold in your neighborhood, as well as those that are currently for sale. If you want to sell your home quickly, then you need to price it … (9 comments)

Murrieta News: Murrieta CA Homes Remain Highly Affordable.
Based on data compiled for the major metro area of Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario, CA, Murrieta homes remain highly affordable. For the sixth consecutive quarter housing affordability remained high in the area, according to the most recent National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Opportunity Index (HOI).
The HOI indicated that 68.6 percent of all new and existing homes sold in the second quarter of 2010 were affordable to families earning the area’s median income of $65,000. However, the area’s second quarter index was slightly lower than the first quarter’s 70.6 percent level, and off … (5 comments)

Murrieta Living: My DCH Honda of Temecula Experience? Hot Coffee, Warm Cookies, Manicures, and a Massage... Now THAT's Service!
It was time for my Honda’s scheduled servicing. This was a minor servicing... oil change, check the fluid levels... nothing major. Only about an hour-long event. So I left my Murrieta home and made the short jaunt to DCH Honda of Temecula.
I arrived on time for my 7:45 am appointment. My service advisor, Tim, checked me in and asked if I planned to wait while my car was serviced. I confirm, "Yep, I’ll be in the lounge."
I leave Tim and enter … (25 comments)

Home Selling Tips in Murrieta, CA: How Much Is My House Worth?
I met with a home owner recently who wanted to sell his house. He was interviewing three different real estate agents... a smart move that helps the owner find the right agent to list his home.
During our meeting, after I reviewed his home, he asked the key question on his mind: “How much is my house worth?”
I anticipated this question and had already prepared a Comparative Market Analysis (CMA). The CMA showed what similar homes in his neighborhood had sold for in the last three months. As … (10 comments)

Home Selling Tips in Murrieta, CA: Selling A Home - Your Photos Can Make A Difference.
If you’re selling a home, I believe that your home’s images make the first (and probably most influential) impact on potential buyers. Too many times I’ve seen listings with just one image... and it was a terrible image. If you want someone looking to buy a home to choose your home over all the others that they view on the Internet, then you need lots of good quality photos.
So what I decided to share today is the impact of using  quality photographic equipment. Below … (12 comments)

Home Buying Tips in Murrieta, CA: You Must Submit An Offer.
I can't submit your offer if you don't give me one.  No matter what price you tell me you’re willing to offer… whether face-to-face during an open house, or by calling my direct mobile number… I can’t submit your offer unless you give me one in writing.

A few months ago, I listed a very nice mobile home for my client. It was clean, well maintained, and in an excellent park. The location was desirable, close to lots of shopping, with easy freeway access. After completing the CMA … (6 comments)

It's late afternoon and pleasantly warm here in Murrieta CA. The air is dry (20% humidity) and the afternoon breeze is enjoyable. It's a great time to be outside.
My wife and I decided to enjoy the outdoors by relaxing in our spa. But as we wait for the spa to warm up to 96 degrees (the sun has already warmed the water to 83 degrees...), I decided to spend a few minutes sharing with you how enjoyable the weather is in Murrieta.
