To answer the question directly, no. You are not required to hire a Home Inspector to inspect the home.
However, you are strongly advised to conduct investigations of the entire property in order to determine its present condition.

Two days ago during the late afternoon I snapped a photo of the moon rising over snow-topped mountains.

Here's a close-up of the moon.

Tonight (two days later), I snapped a photo of the rising full moon in the far-off distance, cradled by the same snow-topped mountains. The moon is so bright, it almost looks like the setting sun.

It’s been unseasonably warm here in Murrieta CA during the last few days, with temps in the 70’s and 80’s. Even so, there’s still snow in the mountains!
