advice: How do you spell success? - 03/29/12 09:59 PM
Do you consider yourself a Success?
Success is NOT achieved accidentally. It is a systematic, deliberate process of deciding what you want to do with your life, what you will do when you get there, and what the steps are to get you where you want to be.
One of the most important aspects of success is the ability to visualize your path and stay focused on your goal until you reach it. The sooner you envision your dreams and develop a plan to turn them into reality, the faster you will accomplish your goals. Mental pictures are a mechanism to … (4 comments)

advice: The 3 most important words in real estate: listings, listings, listings! - 03/15/12 10:27 PM
I hope you made this a productive week for yourself. The existing inventory of homes for sale continues to fall as buyers are out there buying, buying, buying. That means, you must list if you want to last! Are you planning to launch a new prospecting plan, but can't quite motivate yourself to get started? What are you waiting for? Most of us are hesitant to start anything new because we are afraid we might make a mistake or fail. Go ahead make mistakes! Don’t wait for more experience or to be good enough to start. You don’t have to be … (10 comments)

advice: Feel the fear...But do it anyway! Best advice I ever got! - 03/13/12 10:16 PM
What are you afraid of?Everyone wants to be known as 'Courageous'. Courage is a wonderful feat to achieve. It is not only displayed by soldiers in a war field who faithfully defend their country; every field of work requires courage at various levels. The very fact that 'right now' you are interested in something positive, which has life changing potential, proves the courage in you. Courage can be understood in many ways and one of them is by studying the one thing that tends to antagonize, neutralize and negate it: Fear. In my daily blog I frequently write about how fear … (3 comments)

advice: Are you too old and set in your ways to change? - 03/08/12 08:41 PM
Yesterday one of the agents in our coaching session used this as a reason (excuse) why she couldn't seem to change the negative habits that were keeping her from reaching the goals and objectives she has established for herself. Are you too old and "set in your ways" to change? Are you using this as an excuse to allow you not make the changes you need to make in your business and life? Change begins with our choices.Any day we wish; we can discipline ourselves to change it all. Any day we wish; we can open the book that will open our … (10 comments)

advice: What have you done for me lately? - 03/07/12 08:38 PM
Are you creating customers for life? Are your customers card carrying members of your fan club? It’s been said that on average a happy customer or client will share their experience with three other people, while a negative experience will be retold upwards of 10 times.I readily admit I don’t have the scientific numbers to prove whether the above claim is true or not, but I can tell you that if there’s even the slightest smidgen of truth in it I don’t want to find out for sure! Do you? No, of course you don’t. The following story from a friend … (5 comments)

Are you like so many people today, pushing and shoving your way through life trying to achieve some sort of success but aren’t sure what success looks like?
Do you tear through each day, each week, and each month without any idea where you are going, without a plan for your life, personally or professionally?
We are all affected by factors that impact our daily lives. These five factors explain why we do what we do each day. The five factors of influence are as follows:

advice: FEAR is really false education that appears real!! - 02/28/12 08:51 PM
What are you afraid of? We all have our fears in life. But the biggest fear for most people seems to be the fear of failing. Life's challenges can stir up these negative thoughts that will start to attack our mind and cause us to think about our only 2 choices, fight or flight. When this moment is with you, think about everything that makes a victory. Try to stay relaxed. Gain strength from the pressure to face and defy the moments that you feel life has set to ultimately try to bring you down. Start fighting with a prepared positive … (6 comments)

advice: Is it time to give yourself a check-up from the neck up? - 02/27/12 08:47 PM
As we finish one month and begin a new one it's a good time to follow some advice from Zig Ziglar and give yourself a "check-up from the neck up". Are you really determined to reach your goals and objectives or is goal setting just a wish list for you?
Determination is what turns the ordinary agent into the extraordinary sales professional.
I remember when I was first starting out and I asked a top agent in my office how many calls he would make to a For Sale by Owner before giving up. He told me: "It depends on which … (6 comments)

advice: Are you taking time to say thanks? - 02/26/12 08:47 PM
6:30AM EST and I am just starting another incredible, action filled day. We are so lucky to be in the real estate business. Have you heard the news? The market is moving in a positive direction and the buyers and sellers are out in force looking for someone to help them buy or sell real estate. What is on your list of business building activities today? Are you making your list of things to do today and prioritizing it based on ABC & D? Are you sticking to it? Remember, A stands for ACTION NOW and should be the action steps … (10 comments)

advice: Always do what you always did and always get what you always got! - 02/23/12 08:43 PM
Always do what you always did? Always get what you always got! Are you an agent of change? Life events often force re-birth, a re-evaluation of ourselves and the way we see and do things. In order for things to get better, we must continually practice the art of change; train ourselves to seek and welcome it. Despite temporary growing pains that result, keep your eyes on opportunities for growth. In the last half of 2011, I heard from lots of people who decided 2012 was going to be different for them. I think people were feeling too comfortable and complacent … (8 comments)

advice: Are you spending major time on minor things? - 02/20/12 08:26 PM
Wouldn't it be nice if each day we could work only on our highest-priority activities? By end of each month, we'd finish all our key projects! But unexpected-yet-important distractions inevitably get in the way.
Try one, some, or all of these time management tips to help you determine your priorities and focus your energies.
1. Make a plan and review it often. What do you want to accomplish in this year? Break that down by quarter. Break down this quarter's plan by month. Break down this month's plan by week. Break down this week's plan by day. Estimate your time investment … (5 comments)

advice: Do you build fences or bridges? - 02/06/12 11:39 PM
Do you build fences or bridges? Once upon a time, two brothers who lived on adjoining farms fell into conflict. It was the first serious rift in 40 years of farming side-by-side, sharing machinery and trading labor and goods as needed without a hitch. Then the long collaboration fell apart. It began with a small misunderstanding and it grew into a major difference and finally, it exploded into an exchange of bitter words followed by weeks of silence. One morning there was a knock on John's door. He opened it to find a man with a carpenter's toolbox. "I'm looking for … (9 comments)

advice: Are you on the road to get you where you want to go? - 02/01/12 11:45 PM
Are you on the road to getting where you want to go? Do you have a plan to push yourself in the month of February or is the plan to just get by? The principles for getting the best results from your business are the same as the principles for getting the best out of your life: You will get out exactly what you put in! We should all be following the 17th Principle of Personal Achievement. (And this is a good one!) "Go the Extra Mile", the title says it all.
Render more and better service than you are paid … (4 comments)

advice: Are you priming the pump for your success? - 01/29/12 11:40 PM
Prime the Pump for Success
Several years ago, two friends of mine, two brothers, Johnny and Luis Ybarra were looking for land development opportunities in the foothills of Tucson, Arizona. One of the properties they previewed was an old abandoned ranch house with an old water pump in the yard. Obviously desert properties with a water source are more valuable than those without water so Luis grabbed the pump handle and started pumping. After a few minutes he asked Johnny to grab a bucket from the trunk and dip some water out of a nearby wash to “prime” the pump.

advice: Are you struggling to find the time to do the things you need to do? - 01/26/12 11:44 PM
Are you struggling to find the time to do the things you need to do to reach the goals and objectives you have?
A day does not go by without someone asking about their schedule of activities and how they can balance their business with their personal life. The answer to this challenge is not easy but it is simple. You need to follow a well thought out plan.
1. Commit to yearly goals for personal development and professional accomplishment. Translate yearly goals into quarterly goals and then into "actions steps" that become part of your "to do" lists that are … (12 comments)

advice: Are YOU Giving Less Than Your Best? - 01/12/12 11:32 PM
Are you giving less than your best?An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer, a building contractor, of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended family. He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could get by.
His employer was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but it was easy to see that his heart was no longer in his work. He had … (4 comments)

advice: Have you mastered the basics for success? - 01/09/12 11:39 PM
What so few real estate people seem willing to accept is a fundamental truth: to be successful you MUST master the fundamentals.Great salespeople, like great athletes, simply do the basics very well. Some of us would like to believe that there's a shortcut around the basics; that, if we could only find it, there's a secret formula out there somewhere for just sitting back and letting the money roll in. The sooner you get rid of that illusion, the sooner you get on with reaching the heights you want to reach through effective use of the basics. What are the five fundamentals for success you … (1 comments)

advice: Do you get strength from your adversity? - 01/05/12 11:45 PM
A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared, he sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole.
Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no farther.
Then the man decided to help the butterfly, so he took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.
The man continued … (2 comments)

advice: Are you taking life one day at a time? - 12/28/11 11:34 PM
There are two days in every week about which we should not worry. Two days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension.
One of these days is yesterday, with its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders, its aches and pains. Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed. We cannot erase a single word we said. Yesterday is gone!!
The other day we should not worry about is tomorrow, with its possible adversities, its burdens, its large promise and poor … (6 comments)
