columbia county: foreclosure could be cracked up to be cracks in the wall. - 01/18/10 05:36 AM
Now I know this does not pertain to most agents and brokers below the Mason-Dixon line but up North it gets pretty cold mid January. So I have a foreclosure, since late Fall, the bank drained the pipes, used anti-freeze and turned off the water. Good deal for everyone. Now I have a buyer with an accepted offer from the Bank. He know it is "as is" but wants to know what the "as is" is. Lets see ifthe furnace works, hot water radiators for heat, and the hot water heater and the septic and throw in the outside water spickets. … (1 comments)

All the vendors came back to their place from last year plus two new ones. Oh boy a fresh pie every weekend until October. This weekend there will be something different....Music!!! columbia county: Don't leave us hanging!!!!!!!!!!!! - 03/05/09 06:37 AM
Looking for a house. We have to make a move. When can we come? It's still a buyers market, right?
After viewing the local MLS and the Century 21 web site, call and make an appointment to view some property.  Call Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday for weekend viewings. Combine similar prices ranges and styles of homes. Give the seller time to get the house ready, Flowers, candles, music, garbage, the pets.
Group what your ideal home would be. A $169,000 starter home, a $285,000 ranch, a foreclosure, and a $475 Victorian is not what you should call to make appointments for. Ask … (0 comments)

columbia county: Ham it up on the Radio - 03/01/09 01:49 AM
Free Ham Radio Classes begin March 4th at the Noecker66 showroom from 6 to 9 PM. Located at 92 Union Turnpike in Hudson NY. This seems to be a very popular past time. Several customers I have had looking at property have asked if a ham radio antenna can be erected in that area. Years ago when I was in elementary school and older neighboor had a ham radio and sometimes he would let a group of us in and listen to people talking all over the world. Fasinating for a young kid who thought "kick the can" was everything. If you … (0 comments)

Now in it's 14th year the students arrive on a Sunday and stay until after lunch on Thursday. Each student, men and women select a design drawn on linen usually (the first rugs were done on old burlap bags) and a color selection is worked on. Cynthia starts at 9am and goes right thru until 3PM helping beginners and those who have been doing it for … (0 comments)

columbia county: ICE ICE BABY here in Kinderhook NY - 01/20/09 04:48 AM

All the attention on Broad Street in Kinderhook NY this weekend was because of the spectatular display of ice creatures on the front yard of John Hanaham.
John's friend, Haminio is a graduation of culinary school and has been doing ice sculptures for quite awhile. He started out with one or two last year, but this season he went all out. There are eight now. This morning they were all hold OBAMA signs and American flags. Quite a sight for Rebuplicans and Democrats alike.
The cold weather has helped to maintain the statues. My favorite is the lion, being a … (0 comments)

columbia county: Don't be a couch potatoe in Kinderhook, NY - 01/06/09 02:28 AM
With another snow storm on the way Wednesday it looks like another day off from school. Here is something to think about while we sit infront of the fire. Get up and start running. Every year the Kinderhook Memorial Library forms a team to run the Kinderhook Bank's OK-5K run in June. But what about the rest of the year? Would you like to be part of a friendly active running club? It would be a great way to meet new people in the area if you have just moved here and it would be good for your health. The Kinderhook … (0 comments)
