Now I know this does not pertain to most agents and brokers below the Mason-Dixon line but up North it gets pretty cold mid January. So I have a foreclosure, since late Fall, the bank drained the pipes, used anti-freeze and turned off the water. Good deal for everyone. Now I have a buyer with an accepted offer from the Bank. He know it is "as is" but wants to know what the "as is" is. I hear snow is on the way here in upstate New York, just in time for our holiday Candle Lite Night in the historic village of Kinderhook. We don't have alot of business going on here but what we lack in that department we make up for in spirit. The 5th annual Northern Columbia Triathlon is scheduled for Sunday August 9th. Start planning now. There are levels for all ages and degrees of competition. The swim is 1/4 mile in beautiful Queechy Lake and then take a 18 mile bike ride thru the countryside to Ghent, then if your legs can keep you going it is a 4.5 mile run in to the village of Kinderhook. Last weekend the Village (Kinderhook that is) was so busy. With the opening of the Farmers Market and the OK run with 500 participants you couldn't find a place to park for the first time in months. All the vendors came back to their place from last year plus two new ones. Oh boy a fresh pie every weekend until October. This weekend there will be something different....Music!!! Since last Sunday my wife has overseen a folk art camp here in Kinderhook. The teacher, Cynthia from Ohio, originally from Texas drove the eight hours to help students with the art of rug hooking. Now in it's 14th year the students arrive on a Sunday and stay until after lunch on Thursday. Each student, men and women select a design drawn on linen usually (the first rugs were done on old burlap bags) and a color selection is worked on. John's friend, Haminio is a graduation of culinary school and has been doing ice sculptures for quite awhile. He started out with one or two last year, but this season he went all out.
