I Captured an Elk... With My Camera of Course...
This big guy was out for a stroll just a little West of the development "Elk Haven" in Sedro Woolley.  Nice to see that all the construction has not kept these magnificent animals away....
I was returning from a home inspection in Concrete when I saw a few cars pulled off the side of the road and the people all had cameras... I looked in the direction they were looking and saw this big elk wandering around.
Unfortunately, I didn't have my tri-pod with me and the elk was at least 500 yards away... … (5 comments)

A Picture is worth a thousand words.  The RIGHT picture is worth even more.
Everyone has snapshots they've taken - the kids, the dog, the team, that vacation - but when you're marketing a house, you need to look at all of the little details.
We're limited in the amount of words we can use in our marketing.   Space on flyers, advertisements, and the Multiple Listing Service are all limited.  There's space for more words on the internet, but who wants to read a book's worth of info?
A photo, however, can capture a buyer's attention in an instant - but it has to … (0 comments)

photography: I Shot The Moon..... - 08/01/07 04:10 PM
The other day, I blogged about my great new digital camera. If you missed that post, you can find it here.
I got to thinking, what can I take a picture of that can really take advantage of the super-zoom capabilities... The lens isn't quite as powerful as a telescope, but it sure feels like it is on that scale...  So, I thought to myself "What would I look at if I had a telescope?"  Aha...  The Moon is cool... So, I shot the moon.
What do you think? Pretty cool, eh?

photography: My Fantastic New Digital Camera... - 07/30/07 04:13 PM
I couple months ago, I purchased a new Digital Camera.  It is a Sony Cybershot DSC-H9...
Wow, what a camera!  It has an incredible focal length range from 5.2mm to 78mm (thats a range from 31mm to 465mm in the 35mm camera world).... A huge built-in range to be sure, but it gets even better with the available attaching conversion lenses.
The Wide Conversion Lens (model VCL-DH0774) modifies the wide angle from 5.2mm to just 3.9mm (23.25mm in the 35mm camera world).
The Tele Conversion Lens (model VCL-DH1774) takes the 78mm focal length and converts it to 132.6mm (thats 790.5mm in the 35mm camera world)
For real estate purposes, a … (17 comments)

photography: Real Estate Photography Class... - 03/28/07 07:01 PM
I took a fairly advanced class in Real Estate Photography today.  It was interesting hearing some of the tricks of the trade in getting that perfect picture of a building or a feature of a building as well as some of the things done in food photography.... Lets just say that the burgers you see on TV will NOT be consumed by anything other than a trash can....
I found the class to be very educational and it got me thinking about the pictures I've taken for my listings and how they can be improved.... This last sentence is the reason I … (3 comments)
