Played the club championship this past weekend after coming back from Alaska on a fishing canoe trip with two of my sons. Shot a lousy 79 on Saturday but came back with a 73 on Sunday to win my division. Nice trophy and some cash award was nice but would have still liked to win the over all title. Doing some swing changes that will help me next year. Golf is a lot like bloging and posting. The more you do it the better you get at it. The more you practice the better one gets at anything. Well,Started the Capital City Amateur with a good solid even par on the back nine, then came to the 1st hole, a par 5 easy reachable hole. Teed off and lost my ball and had to come back and hit #3 off the tee again. Took triple bogey!! Yikes! Then birdied 3 of last 4 holes to finish 1 over for first 18. Next day, again started pretty good, even par after nine, then got tired and couldn't make a putt coming in for a 4-over 76. Took 4th place in the senior division, maybe 12th or so overall. Capitol City Amateur starts today at Salem Golf Club in Salem Oregon, my tee time is at !:55 pm and hope to do well and hopefully i can get into the last group for Sunday. They had a 'horse race' last night. I won it and $170. I was quite the challenge, started on #12 (the scene of my 'hole in one') one month ago.
