agent: Rethink Your Holiday Marketing Plan - 11/23/15 06:36 AM
Tis the season of rushing around, overindulging in deliciously decadent food and drink, going to parties, visiting with family and friends…. along with some of their random acquaintances that they bring home like stray pets. Evenings after work… (we will not discuss the random Google searches and Amazon purchases we make during the work day…..) are filled with running from store to store hoping to find all of the perfect…. and close enough to get by…. gifts for the people who are important to you. Or in some cases the people for whom you feel “duty bound” to buy a gift.

agent: Corn Mazes, Pumpkin Patches, & Haunted Attractions Near Knoxville, TN - 10/05/15 04:18 AM
October in East Tennessee is one of the most breathtaking times of year to take in the beautiful natural vistas, from the changing leaves coloring the mountains to the contrasts of the autumn sunsets with the brilliant blue skies touching the crisp, sparkling water of the many waterways and lakes. Ahhhhh, yes, fall in full bloom! Pumpkins showing up in everything from front door décor to candle scents and of course spiced lattes….. who could argue with the absolute refreshing change from the warmth (ok sometimes more like oppressive heat) of summer. Some of the other things that permeate October are … (0 comments)

agent: Tasteful Luxury Home For Sale in Farragut, TN - 09/28/15 09:04 AM
Custom, exquisite, and rich with details, these are some of the first thoughts that will go through your mind when you take in all this home has to offer. I simply must share some thoughts about this listing, an exceptional luxury home in the heart of Farragut, TN. Allow me to take you through some of its many assets in words and I’ll provide links to the listing itself and photos too. It is getting more and more difficult to find newer construction within the greatly desired and convenient part of Farragut’s 37934 zip code which falls between Kingston Pike and … (1 comments)

agent: Reflecting on the Evolution of Housing Style Preferences - 08/16/15 07:10 AM
First, please understand that these ponderings are in the spirit of generalities, observations, conversations, requests, and my perceptions. There are exceptions to every rule and there are buyers for every home…. I really believe that.  It is also true that price points affect selections and requests and necessity – yes, check, given.  What I’m talking about is just a subtle shift in demand, and wish lists, and dreams, NONE of this is scientific, nor do I have data or evidence to substantiate it…. I was really just thinking – so read on in that spirit and share, if you want, what … (3 comments)

agent: Knoxville TN Lifestyle for Sale - 08/09/15 08:22 AM
Let’s talk honestly for a moment.  As real estate professionals we aren’t simply selling houses, or even “homes”.  Most of the time, we are selling far more than what will be transferred in the Deed.  We are selling neighborhoods, school districts, cities, and occasionally even states.  That probably sounds grand but think about it, no matter how attractive or attractively priced the home is, if it’s in a “less desirable” area of town, or neighboring properties have been neglected, if the city’s taxes are a burden, if the restrictions are unreasonable….. any of these things can effectively crush a deal.  That … (0 comments)

agent: The Perils of Personal Vanity and Real Estate - 07/12/15 10:03 AM
Let’s be honest, Real Estate Professionals come face to face with their own sense of vanity (or lack of) many times in some very big…. literally BIG ways.  Think about all the places our personal images are prominently displayed.  How many portraits of our cohorts are featured in every newspaper? Many of our listing signs have our smiles prominently on view.  Our websites and social media pages are also branded with our image.  Let’s not forget the billboards…. it is a little unnerving seeing your photo on a scale THAT large as you drive by a prime advertising position.  Don’t think … (2 comments)

agent: Buyers, Agents, and HOAs - 04/26/15 09:04 PM
All home buyers are affected by HOAs.  No, really…. even people who buy a home that is not a part of an HOA are affected by its absence.  See?  In fact, the Community Associations Institute trade association estimated that HOAs governed 26.3 million American homes and 65.7 million residents in 2013.  HOAs also affect me as a real estate professional.  Imagine connecting the perfect buyer with their dream home in the ideal location but then informing them that they can’t park the RV that is a big part of their lifestyle plan in the driveway…. it could be a deal breaker (and a … (1 comments)
