I just heard from one of my clients. I sold their home here in New Fairfield, Connecticut, and they relocated to Walnut Creek, California - my old stomping grounds, as I lived there for many years.
It was a fun transaction - we sold their home in this so-called "down market" in a matter of days, and with multiple offers. But the best part was hearing of their home search back in Walnut Creek. This Labor Day weekend, I was able to take a few hours away from work and take my boys over to my aunt's lake house on Candlewood Lake here in New Fairfield, Connecticut.
My aunt always wanted people in her family her enjoy the water as much as she does. I think she finally got her wish with my three boys. They love her pool. They love her lake house. They love her beach. They love the water. And, they love, love, love her boat.

Tonight is the final drive-in movie of the year at Squantz Pond State Park in New Fairfield, Connecticut.
Tonight's movie is "Happy Feet." I love watching this movie...actually, I love watching my kids dance while they're watching this movie!
Admission is free. The park opens at 7pm, and the show begins at dark. Food and drinks will be available, and the monies raised will benefit the Squantz Engine Company.

We all know that when preparing a home to sell, we must de-clutter and de-personalize.
Recently, I was working with a seller who had a lot of books. An avid reader, the books were important to her, but she already knew she had to pack them away before we began marketing the home for sale.
However, while we discussed packing these books away to clear up the shelves, we decided to leave many of the nicer books out on display. These will be showcased on shelves throughout the home.
