newport oregon coastal real estate: Snow at the coast in Newport, Oregon! 2/27/2019 - 02/27/19 09:46 AM
Snow day, or beach day, it's a great day at Advantage Real Estate! Our Wednesday morning meeting was enhanced by a dusting of snow.
I may be the only representative of Advantage for the Wednesday Broker's tour today, 9:00 to 12:00. There are a couple of gift card drawings at the Broker open houses, I figure I have a 50 / 50 chance of winning.
If there are any buyers out there who want to see houses covered with snow with wonderful views of the ocean, today is your day!

newport oregon coastal real estate: Depoe Bay, Oregon on 2/21/2019, Newport Seafood and Wine Festival - 02/21/19 03:19 PM
It was an unusually beautiful morning in Depoe Bay, Oregon today. This is a photo of waves crashing through the blowhole on the sea wall along Highway 101.
This weekend will be a busy time for me, I will be volunteering at the Newport Seafood and Wine Festival Ambassadors Booth. Looking forward to an already "rip roaring" fun time in the next three days!!

newport oregon coastal real estate: Vandals strike Oregon neighborhood, yet again! - 12/07/18 03:32 PM
The vandals struck in the cloak of darkness........Some unnamed person has "vandalized" a water outflow pipe without permission!
This particular blue pipe is overflow from a rural water tank, the overflow works similar to an overflow drain inside a bath. If the tank gets too full, water will spray out of the mouth. (I will be sure to take a photograph for you if it happens on my watch.)
By the way, this is not the first time the vandals have struck!
On previous holidays in 2018, the blue pipe has been outfitted with rabbit ears for Easter, and most recently was seen with … (0 comments)

newport oregon coastal real estate: OR Oceanfront home with low, low price! - 03/24/17 12:12 AM

There might be a good reason the price is so low on a nice oceanfront house you saw on the internet.
The nice interior pictures of a home listed in the MLS may not tell the whole story of why a price seems low for a home at the coast......Call me, perhaps I can be of help, to narrow down your search!

When choosing a home, remember that you may want to resell it at some point! Design flaws will affect the resale value, especially if not suited for the climate in which the house is built.
Take a look at this home design, which might be better suited for a sunny location.
The home has a very narrow, dark entrance to the front door. A gutter full of leaves could become very drippy with frequent coastal Oregon rain.  The long dark walkway with a step in the middle … (1 comments)

newport oregon coastal real estate: The walls have ears - 10/15/14 02:44 AM

Have you ever walked in to an office to hear someone talking about you or someone you know in hushed tones? You can barely make out what is being said but you know it was about you?

No matter what was being said, it never feels good to hear words that are not meant for your ears.
Before you go talking about people in a public place, such as a restaurant, please remember that someone at the next booth might know the people you are talking about. This is especially important if you are in, or about to enter … (2 comments)
