real estate: Newport Seafood and Wine Festival this weekend!! - 02/19/13 04:24 AM
Many visitors who come to Newport, Oregon in February are making a beeline for the Newport Seafood and Wine Festival. It is Newport's biggest fundraiser for the Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce and one of the most exciting events of the year.
Housed in two extra large tents, the Newport Seafood and Wine Festival is a well planned competition for Northwest area wineries who want to put their brand of wine on the map.
Every year, I participate in the Ambassadors Information booth located just inside the front entrance to the festival. We sell "official wine glass holders" which are a hands free … (4 comments)

real estate: A scene unique to Newport, Oregon: Jazz music with my lighthouse! - 07/10/12 08:01 AM

I recently played jazz music outdoors on my vibraphone....overlooking the Yaquina Head Lighthouse in Newport, Oregon! It was a fundraiser for the Samaritan House Homeless Shelter for families with children. The event was the "Secret Garden Tour" and it was a success even though there was a few sprinkles mixed with the sunshine, not uncommon here on the coast.
Please view this photo with smooth jazz in the backround, open the window for a light breeze, a nice cold adult beverage and a snack, and you will experience a little of the magic I felt while playing live music that day … (4 comments)

real estate: A day in the life of a Coastal Oregon Real Estate agent! - 02/03/12 05:45 AM

When I show homes on a day like this, I am glad I moved to the Oregon Coast! This photo was taken in an area just north of Newport, looking toward Cape Fowlweather and Otter Rock, a popular spot for surfers.
Ahh, what a day to open a lockbox! This area of the Central Oregon Coast is some of the most affordable ocean view property on the West Coast. We are fortunate to have miles of beautiful sandy beaches with easy public access which allows an uninterrupted stroll to magical inlets and tidepools. I have found many lovely agates and … (0 comments)

real estate: Taking a moment to reflect.... - 12/19/11 06:13 PM

I would like to share a poem with you written by Homer, thirty years before Christ was born.
Happy the man, and happy he alone,
He who can call to-day his own:
He who, secure within, can say:
"To-morrow, do thy worst, for I have liv'd to-day."
Here's wishing you a day free of worry and full of hope and beauty. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog!
Happy selling!

real estate: If business is bad, don't have a cow! - 05/13/10 12:26 PM
We all know that business has been slow, so what is an agent to do? MORE BPO's! I was out last week doing an interior BPO for a valuation company. It happened to be out at a small farm in Lincoln County. While there, I said hello to this youngster who was very insistant that he have his picture taken. I was feeling a little sad about the circumstances of the owners of the house, but to my surprise, they greeted me with big smiles. In fact, they did not seem too concerned about the fact that the property was in the … (2 comments)
