ann arbor: What's Your Name Worth? - 05/27/16 04:36 AM
I was raised to believe that names meant something...Entire families were presumed to be this way or that way based solely on name reputation. Each family member had a responsibility to uphold the family’s name and reputation (or minimally not bring shame to it). Whether it was spoken or not, the underlying responsibility flashed like a bright neon light for everyone to notice and remember. The weight of this responsibility on teenage shoulders felt burdensome and restricting. I wanted to experience the throw caution to the wind recklessness that is often portrayed in films. The unapologetic doing of ones own thing without regard … (1 comments)

ann arbor: I’m (NOT) #1, but I am really, really good! - 02/04/16 09:40 AM
I recently stumbled accross an article titled, Obsessed With Being Famous” and couldn’t help seeing a professional parallel. The article speaks to the new celebrity that is preceived through social media platforms and how people are willing to do just about anything to be famous. Conversely, the preference of money over fame has long been a humorous topic in my friend circle. “If I were to win (the record breaking Powerball jackpot) I wouldn’t tell anyone, “I’d just become less and less available due to my travel schedule”.

ann arbor: Here's What People Who Live in Homeowner's Associations Have to Say... - 04/05/14 12:11 PM
Americans who live in community associations are overwhelmingly pleased with their communities, expressing strong satisfaction with the board members who govern their associations and the community managers who provide professional support.

Almost 40 percent of community association residents say they are "very pleased," with only 10 percent expressing some level of dissatisfaction. Almost 20 percent express neither point of view.

An estimated 54 million Americans live in some 274,000 homeowner associations, … (0 comments)

Even early in my real estate career I knew that presentation was important.  I understood that if someone connected with the home on an emotional level - I had a buyer!  Resources were limited  and I had not yet received any formal home staging training.
So here I am at my first listing...it was a small (cozy) bungalow in a quiet little town (location, location, location) with creaky wood floors (character) and dated furniture (old world charm).  I knew that all of the buzz surrounding this - close to the city, suburb with … (0 comments)

ann arbor: "Welcome Back" - The Relocated Agent's Theme Song! - 02/17/14 10:23 AM
"Welcome back, To that same old place that you laughed about. Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they're turned around..."
You may not remember that famous theme song to a nostalgic t.v. show, but as I relocated back to my home state after years of building a great real estate business elsewhere ... this song popped in my head and followed me like my own personal theme song.
All of the excitement, vulnerbilities and insecurities of starting over only to realize that it's not a sad song, it's a song of empowerment. One … (3 comments)
